In the VERY early stages but I think the show is fantastic and it’s inspired me to start a Ruben and Niall portrait. I’m merging their faces slightly and will be using some red tones where they join to symbolise the violence that runs through their relationship.

Absolutely hooked with the show so far. The characters, writing and acting are superb. Hopefully there will be more Half Man inspired creations in this sub soon!

I’m not happy with my skin

Hi all, I’m 36 (F) and recently been feeling really unhappy with my skin. I want to improve it and I’m happy to try new products. (I only use cruelty free and vegan products - I can find these versions of any alternatives listed if needed)

For years I’ve been using The Ordinary (I’ll post my routine below) but I just don’t like my skin and especially how it looks in photos.

I appreciate ageing happens to us all but I’m starting to get really self conscious and bothered by my frown/11 lines. They get worse as the day goes on and I do wear sunglasses and try not to squint but I feel it’s beyond that now anyway.

Botox is not an option for me due it not being cruelty free in the UK. If that ever changes, that would be my go to.

I’m also really unhappy with my uneven skin tone and scarring. I had severe acne as a teenager and the scars have never left. I especially hate it on my chin as it’s really lumpy.

I’ve not worn any foundation for years but recently I’ve been wearing Lumene CC cream as I’m self conscious on bad skin days but it doesn’t sit right on my skin anyway. I’m thinking of switching to Lily Lolo BB cream. But I’d love to just be confident enough to go out bare faced and feel happy with my skin.

I have combination skin and it is sensitive too.

My current routine:

Morning:
splash cold water
Rotate the ordinary Hyaluronic acid 2% + B5 and amino acid + B5
The Ordinary natural moisturising factors + HA
The ordinary Azelaic acid suspension 10% (only recently added)
The ordinary sunscreen SPF 45 serum

Night:
the ordinary squalene cleanser
The Ordinary natural moisturising factors + HA (thinking of switching to the Lily Lolo night cream)
The ordinary granactive retinoid 2% emulsion (about 3 nights per week)

I’m willing to do a complete overhaul and even look into treatments that aren’t likely to help as much as basic skincare for things like the scarring.

If anybody also has had any luck in eliminating hormonal spots or how you did it, that would be amazing. I feel like I will never get my chin smooth as the spots there just keep coming and then causing more scars.

Any help at all would be so appreciated. Thank you.
