Please help me set up a WORKING build!!

So I'll start by saying, I'm new to ALL of this in general, and I still can't successfully get ANYTHING to work!

I went to Troy point dot com and looked up the newest guides and followed them step by step and nothing seems to work!

Like for instance he had a April 2026 guide for diggs xenon as like the most popular thingamadoodle so I shelled out 60 bucks for a Tanix TX-5, waited 3 weeks for it to ship, then followed the guide step by step and on every single one of these guides even though they're less than a month old each time I run into a little snag in one way or another.

In that particular build I just mentioned, the guide says, oh yeah just click on this, then go to downloader and enter in this URL and click download! And then the URL doesn't work.

Or I tried a different build and this time the URL worked but when I went to "the add program" part to download and install the specific repository out of this long list of repositories that showed up, the one The guide wants me to download DOESN'T WORK, so I click on another one that looks similar and I don't know if it's that one extra step but nothing works.

I mean I've managed to get a build or two installed so whenever I fire up Kodi that'll have this cheesy looking interface that looks like it was put together by an edgy 13-year-old with an edgy screen name like "666mafia" to go along with it. Once it's booted up I click on movies and I'll see along list of movies, I click on one and it'll maybe play the trailer or something but as soon as I click watch movie nothing happens. Every single time I get some sort of error.

Then I saw something about using a debrid service or something so I signed up for torbox And almost paid for it but decided at the last second I'll just use the free version just in case the whole operation goes tits up, (which spoiler alert, it did) and whenever I go to type in my unique API code It just flat out rejects it!

So I mean at this point I'm just looking for someone to just point me in the direction of a legitimate guide that works 100% so that I know that I didn't just waste 8 plus hours of my life, and 60 some odd dollars to go along with it!

Because as much information is there is out here about all this shit they're surprisingly very few guides that I can find explicitly telling me how to set all this shit up!

Now I can see why these assholes are charging two or $300 for a so-called, "SUPER BOX"! Because trying to set all this shit up on your own is an absolute nightmare and I'm at my wit's end having trial and error'd shit over, and over, and over, and over...

I mean jailbreaking a fire stick and putting some streaming services on those was a cakewalk that I could do with my eyes closed and both thumbs up my own ass a few years ago so I don't know if the game has just changed thaaaat much, or if I just have the worst luck on planet Earth in finding guides and tutorials on setting this shit up that doesn't have expired links or out of date information!

Thanks in advance for any and all help! I like to think of myself as computer savvy as I have hacked into Windows 10 computers or hell, I've even built computers, but for some reason getting a working build so my wife can watch whatever obscure weird shit she wants to watch that isn't available on Netflix or whatever is just impossible!!

Anyway, thank you so much for your help or even taking the time to read this post!

My one month review of the MSI Claw A1m

A little late to the handheld PC saying I know But here's my honest review for anyone thinking about buying this specific model...

I'll start by saying I couldn't afford anything else and it being my first handheld PC I didn't want to throw too much money at it and end up hating it so I rolled with the A1m and honestly, I am absolutely infatuated with this damn thing!!

I've got a Lenovo Legion laptop and I BARELY game on it anymore, (unless I'm at work heh heh heh 😉).

If I had three main criticisms, (ordered from worst onward) they would be:

  1. The joysticks SUCK!

They are just so loose and depending on the game sometimes it's almost unplayable! I've never used Hall effect joysticks but if this is what I can expect from them, then give me a classic PS3 controller any day! Actually. Now that I think about it, That's not it, because I actually bought a third party wireless controller from Gamesir called the Cyclone 2 and it's supposed to have the same type of joysticks but those feel real tight and responsive compared to these loose ass joysticks that are built into the device. I don't know, if I was creating a handheld console with hardware aimed SPECIFICALLY for gaming, I don't think I would have let this damn thing leave the factory with the joysticks feeling like a flaccid penis, so I don't know what the hell they were thinkin with that one. As someone who plays pretty much exclusively first person shooters having joysticks that feel tight and responsive is pretty much a necessity!

I guess thankfully they have a gyroscope system built into the device so when I'm trying to snipe the grenade out of a grunt's hands on Halo infinite from the other side of a mountaintop, I can slap the weeble wobble joysticks in the general area of said grunt and then slightly tilt the entire console to fine-tune the shot. It takes a little getting used to for sure, but after an hour or two of playing, you get used to it and it kind of becomes second nature. Hell, at one point I was picking up the Gamesir controller and caught myself trying to do the same thing! Which kind of got me thinkin, damn I kind of wish I could aim like that in every game! So good job MSI, task failed successfully. I guess.

  1. Next to NO accessories.

Normally this isn't something I would bitch about because I'm not some fashion diva who needs my panties to match my purse, But rather a neurotic and paranoid pessimist who goes out of their way to make sure none of his shit gets damaged, (especially if he spends some serious coin on it!).

I mean I understand that this was not a super popular console compared to the likes of the steam deck or ROG Ally, But realistically, there's only like FOUR main handhelds, (five if you want to count the Nintendo Switch). So for the life of me I can't understand why there aren't more accessories for the MSI Claw! I mean is it too much to ask to have more than three grips for the damn thing?? I mean let's be real, at a first glance it looks almost EXACTLY like the ROG Ally X! You know, the one with the Z1 extreme chip in it? I mean All I can say is, if you told my wife that she needed to run out and go by the MSI claw A1M TONIGHT or my kidnappers would kill me, I would like to be buried and not cremated because I can 100% guaran-damn-tee it that she would come home with an ROG Ally X because they look almost identical and she wouldn't notice the vent placement on the front to realize they're two totally different machines! That being said, they made plenty of accessories for the Ally X so it wouldn't have been too hard to just make a tweak or two to the machines at the factories to pump out the same cases or grips for the MSI Claw. I don't know... just seems like a missed opportunity for these companies, and a frustrating reality for the gamers that decided to go the way of The Claw! I'm still upset that the steam deck got that super cool case where it clamps around the back and acts as grips while having a hinge at the top where an entire plastic shell can fold down over the Joy-Cons so the entire thing is protected WHILE YOU'RE USING IT as well as when you set it down and walk away! So cool and so tragic that we didn't get that! 😭

  1. Battery

Yes I understand that these consoles don't have unlimited amounts of battery that you can utilize to play your favorite game for 10 hours at a time; we're just not there yet, technologically speaking. But playing an older title such as The Darkness 2 shouldn't kill my battery in 58 minutes like it seems to do. I don't know maybe I have to do more tinkering and messing around with the settings to help remedy that problem, but your average goy-slop consuming American is just not going to put that much effort into tinkering or messing around with settings and workarounds if there's a device out there that can just... DO! We live in the age of convenience, (which I personally think is making people dumber, but I won't get into that!) so if the competition has a device that people can just turn on and it works without having to screw around settings menus or downloading third party apps to work around whatever issue they're having, that's going to be the more popular item they're going to buy! And in a way you can't really blame them because in this shitty economy everyone's having to work longer hours and they don't have that much free time to dick around and tinker like that so if they're going to spend their hard-earned money on something they just want it to WORK.

I don't own the new 8 AI+ so I don't know how that one compares to this one but I've heard nothing but glowing reviews about it so I'd like to think that most of these issues were addressed and fixed by MSI which is amazing! A lot of companies for some reason or another Don't listen to customer feedback but from what I understand, they did and aside from the loose joystick issue, I think they fixed everything!

So yeah in conclusion I'd say if you like to tinker and fuck around in settings menus, (and you can get it for a cheap price) DEFINITELY get the A1M! So far everything I've put through it, runs perfectly fine, (Even though sometimes I have to put it on low settings) And if you're playing at home with it plugged into the wall most of the time then there's no issue there either!

Which just leaves the joysticks. Some people have cracked it open and replaced the joysticks with tighter ones but I've just learned to use the gyroscope method so I'm not going to mess with any of that noise. All in all I was very surprised with this thing and will continue to promote it because after all the updates and things that MSI has done since it's disastrous launch, It's become an amazing little piece of tech that I think will always hold a special place in my heart!

...Sort of like when I got my Sega Game Gear as a kid. Which, come to think of it, it kind of feels like the modern day equivalent of that console! Maybe that's why I love it so damn much! Maybe I subconsciously relate it to happier childhood days? 🤔

So I just bought a Tanix TX5 and It's hella fast and snappy but having never set up an IPTV system before this is all new to me.

I'd like to think I'm fairly tech savvy but I think just dumb luck, (or lack thereof) I'm literally hitting every single snag I can possibly hit and then some!

My main issue is that the box came with Kodi 18 baked in and there's no way to get rid of it!

My goal was to uninstall it so that I could update to Kodi 21.

"Hey, why don't you just update your 18 to 21 within the app?!"

Good point insightful reader I've just made up in my mind; You see the issue is every time I try to do an update it just gives me an error that I can't even read! And if I try to go to the Cody website and do a fresh install it says something like sorry there's already kodi installed here!

So it's like damned if I do and damned if I don't. I tried to remove the app but as I stated in the title it doesn't even show up on my list of apps which is strange because even Android system apps show up in my app list so I would think that the Kodi app would as well but that's not true here.

Chat GPT said that I could probably download a Kodi alternative but so far no luck!
