One thing P5X does better than P5

The presence of antagonists in the original Persona 5, specifically many of the game's mid game antagonists ike Madarame, Kaneshiro, and Okumura were underdeveloped. During their respective chapters, they hardly appeared in the real world. Instead of being shown their crimes, the Phantom Thieves would just hear about them within their Palaces.

I believe P5X’s antagonists are better written in this regard. They get plenty of screentime in the real world, and we actually see them in the act rather than just hearing about them in the Metaverse. The game does a good job of balancing their real selves and shadow selves, so one doesn’t have to do all the heavy lifting.

In Chapter 4, for example, we actually get to see Shimotsuna’s abuse toward her employees and how she sees them as inferior. It’s a major plot point rather than something vaguely mentioned. All the scenes in the Metaverse mostly act as good supplements to what we already know. The game also explores one of her victims, Daichi Osaka, in great depth, which goes above and beyond in terms of writing, it doesn’t only focus on the new Phantom Thief but instead the consequences there would be if Shoki were ensnared further.

Is “Part 2” off the table?

I was under the impression that the natural progression of gacha games after they complete their main story was to move on to a “Part 2” like FGO did but apparently there are no plans for that?

What the P5X anime should be ‎

P5X has the advantage over the mainline games for not having a calendar system which would make for a more straightforward adaptation but I don’t think it’s a good idea anyway due to the poor quality of the earlier arcs and due to the story not being complete and thus would be difficult to adapt properly, overall I don’t think a direct adaptation is a good idea.

If it was up to me it’d be a 24 episode psychological, twist-driven cyclical thriller that takes place in a past loop, while it’d start off like normal making it seems as though a proper adaptation, there’d be a mid season twist as Wonder begins recruiting a different group, instead of a stylized urban fantasy like the game it’d be darker and paranoia driven that’d focus on consequence, the helpless death of a party members leading to the eventual destruction of the phantom thieves.

My attempt at creating a map of the cosmology of the Persona series

Likely flawed in some ways but I’ve done my best to be as accurate as possible

Why do people claim that Unreal Engine 5 and Ray tracing are ruining modern gaming?

I’ve seen arguments on over reliance on automation with Lumen and Nanite, poor performance in games due to unreasonable hardware demands. Also that game studios have lost their identity due to moving to use unreal engine 5 which had caused unique art styles to be lost in favor of the “unreal” look some modern games have now.

Do you believe that these complaints have merit?

Will P5X increase in relevance as long as the stories progresses?

I recall that Fate’s gacha game, Fate Grand Order started off as a self-contained time travel adventure but after it wrapped up its main story it began to more deeply delve itself into the lore of its series, eventually serving as an explanation of the mechanics of its verse, setting up cosmic lore etc.

Do you believe that this too will apply to P5X the longer the story goes on?
