I’ve tried calorie tracking a bunch of times and always failed for the same reason: the actual logging is too annoying.

Searching for food, estimating quantities, entering macros, remembering to do it after every meal. It is just enough friction that I eventually stop.

So I built a small Hermes workflow where my only job is to take a picture when I eat.

The flow is pretty simple:

1. Hermes looks at the 3 most recent iCloud photos.
2. It first checks the thumbnail to see if the image is food or not.
3. If it looks like food, it runs a second step with an LLM to identify the meal, estimate rough quantity, calories, and high-level macros.
4. If something is unclear, like portion size, it messages me on Telegram and asks a quick follow-up.
5. The result gets added to a dashboard where I can see calories/macros over time.

So the workflow is now basically:

Take picture of lunch.
Take picture of dinner.
Answer a Telegram question only if the agent is unsure.

It is not perfect, and I don’t think it needs to be. The point is not medical-grade nutrition tracking. The point is making the habit so low-friction that I can actually keep doing it.

What surprised me is that the “AI” part is not the most interesting bit. The useful part is that the system fits into behavior I already have. I don’t need to open a calorie app. I don’t need to search a database. I don’t need to remember exact portions unless it asks.

I'm on a skilled worker visa and have completed five years and want to apply for ILR, but I can't seem to find a priority slot for faster booking. I have tried to look for slots between midnight and 1 a.m. on a Thursday. Any advice on what to do in this situation would be useful.

It’s pretty useless if I can’t sync my data. My oura data hasn’t synced in over 24 hours. I have discontinued my monthly AI plan. Is there a timeline to have this issue resolved?

I recently changed phone numbers because earlier I was using a work number that I used to sign into the OpenAI account. Now I don't have the ability to change or update my new number, and I can't sign into Codex. I can sign into ChatGPT, but I can't sign into Codex because it's asking to verify my phone number. Any insight on what to do and how to approach this?
