Like seriously, they got Justice League, Avengers, X-Men, SHIELD, ARGUS, whatever. Demigods, psychics, satellites, telepaths, super speed, global surveillance, etc. Natural disasters, understandable. But how does something like 9/11 still happen?
Did they ever actually explain it in-universe, or did writers generally just avoid it?
I dont know if everyone around me just has bad hearing or if mine is actually way more sensitive than normal, but I’ve started noticing this more now (though it’s something I’ve been aware of since I was a kid).
Like I can hear things from really far away, and I literally can’t sleep without noise canceling earphones because I pick up the smallest sounds. Even stuff like a loose screw in a ceiling fan will bother me (that no one else can hear), tiny insect wings, repetitive background noise.
At work it gets weird too. Like if Im inside the buildingand someone across the parking lot says something to someone at the door, the person at the door will go “what?” and I already heard the original thing clearly the first time. At home, someone could knock at the door while Im upstairs or even in the bathroom and I’ll be the first one to notice, while everyone else is still just talking in the living room like nothing happened.
In public I basically have to wear earphones all the time because I swewar I can pick up every whisper or side conversation around me. It’s kind of overwhelming, really.
And this isn’t just a one-time thing, it happens regularly with different people. They can’t all be trolling me, right?
