Two separate rolls - lab developer? Leica M3, 50 mm, Kodak Gold 200 & Ultramax 400

I've shot a roll of Kodak Gold 200 and Ultramax 400 on my Leica M3 (previously my father's - not used in about 15 years). Most of the shots came out fine or had minor issues that were more the photographer than the film or the camera. But for both rolls there are shots that have some odd bandings - 3 on the Kodak Gold 200, 9 on the Ultramax. I've included some of the bad and some of the good. They were developed months apart - so it's hard to fault the lab but at the same time if it were the camera I would think it would be all of them. It isn't the scanner - first roll I scanned them, second roll they did. Other rolls from other cameras are fine.

I'm heading to the Southwest later this year and want to take one of my film cameras along (also taking a digital - because why not). Definitely the Nikon F3 because I have a 50 mm prime lens and a 15-85mm zoom (and a 200 mm telephoto as well).

Color. Anyone have any recommendations that would make either the reds or the sky pop? I've used Kodak Gold 200 and Ultramax 400 as well as Fujifilm 400, all of which worked pretty well. The Fujifilm I used back in 2019 for a trip to the Grand Canyon, which the color did come out pretty nicely (any issues were the idiot behind the camera, not the camera - which was my old Nikon FM).

B&W. Film that would give a really good contrast. I've had good luck with both TriX 400 and HP5 400, but a lower ISO might be better given the intensity of the light. I did see a prior post that recommended Ilford FP4. I do have a good yellow (and an orange) filter to use as well on the Nikon. The other option for the B&W is to take my Rolleiflex along and switch to 120 for the B&W film (also have yellow and red filters for the Rolleiflex). That prior post, one commenter suggested HP5 at 800 ISO for medium format to bring out the shadows.
