I think the shutter is stuck and I tbh I haven’t shot it in a few years, so I don’t know what else it could need so I’d like to have someone take a look at it.
Nippon Photo Clinic says on their website they no longer repair any TLRs and Brooklyn Film camera won’t either.
Any other suggestions?
Shot this with a Rolleiflex and a Pentax 6x7 , on film Kodak400Tx
Pic 1-4 how does it work?
When you change exposure settings (shutter, aperture, iso, and exposure compensation) a little metal tab will go up and down. The new meter has a spring loaded nib that will sense the location of the metal tab, thus it's mechanically coupled with Rollei's original system.
Pic 5-6 In it's working state:
you can see with two different exposure settings the digital needle moves up and down.
Pic 7 calibration:
When first installed, you have to go through menus to set max (1/500 shutter, f22, iso100) and min (1s shutter, f3.5, iso100) so the meter is calibrated.
Pic 8-9 in action:
note that the new meter is about a few mm taller than original. you can see a small opening facing forward that's where the photo sensor is, blocking it will mess with the function of the meter.
Miscs:
Hi all! I’ve got a baby Rollei and the Rolleilux hood/light meter combo and, unfortunately, the the light meter seems off and giving EV numbers below what it should be. It seems to still be working though and that I could be just a matter of calibration.
Would anyone know how to adjust it? I have other hand held light meters at there is always a relatively easily accessible screw to turn to adjust the needle and reading, so I feel like there should be one here as well that would not require disassembly.
I spotted that recessed screw visible on the picture. Could this be it? Thanks a lot!
EDIT: After some experimenting, the screw on the second picture is indeed the one for the calibration of the light meter. The light meter was just a little off (about 0.5V) across all light conditions, hence my thinking that a simple recalibration would suffice. This will not bring back to life a dead selenium cell!
I finally found one on eBay for really cheap after months of searching for a good deal! I want the T model over the other arguably more popular models specifically because of the 6x4.5 (or 4x5.5) masking kit that was made for this specific camera.
Just kidding! At which point is it sane!?
Same as my previous post with black & white but some other churches (and a house, and some flowers) in color. Kodak Gold 200. I was really happy with how the color turned out. I need to work on aim - the Rolleiflex being a TLR, the aiming just isn't natural to me yet and I really struggle at times.
hey guys,
can you help me with some insight of the value of this camera.
Also, do I need to store and maintain it in some special way to keep it that way?
Thank you for the help.
Cheers.
Hi guys, it's my first rollei and I am already having a problem.
The camera winds to the first frame then got stuck, it however can wind indefinitely counter clockwise and reset the shutter, it appears it is stuck in a loop of double exposure which I had no idea how that happened. Looking around it seems to be a common problem on rollei but there was no advice of how to resolve it. Has anyone done this successfully without having to go to a technician?
Kind regards
Some black & white (color in the next post) pictures from a week ago. Testing Ilford's FP4+ film. Picked a bright, sunny day and went walking in the afternoon. Perfect timing. The shadows and contrasts in these really came out nicely IMO.
Thought I'd post my Rollei. Have had it a while, was a very lucky garage sale find! Woth all the blah rollies, the gray really stands out and I wish they had done more this way.
