Since someone posted some Liar Game artwork by Kaitani here today and people started making memes of it, I went into my stash and felt compelled to share these ones where the characters are holding blank signs. They're pretty much made to make memes out of, so go off people!
Sayaka, Kaede, and Miyuu of LDH group f5ve just released a cover of Electro world!
The members have said in multiple interviews that they're fans of Perfume and that they are an inspiration to them as artists.
(Secretly praying Nakata will write them a song one of these days~)
I've been, and still am, someone who has greatly enjoyed the anime from the very beginning, and who has few issues with the animation, pacing, etc that a lot of people have complained about. This episode however is probably my least favourite so far, because it's by far the one where the most notable things were skipped over from the manga.
First, a small but noticeable one. Nao making it very clear that she's afraid of Yokoya.
To me this is important because it shows that Nao, despite being scared of the person in front of her, is still brave enough to clearly speak about her convictions without faltering. It's a great little moment for her that does a lot. The bravest thing a person can do is act even when they're afraid.
Second, Fukunaga's determination and frustration at not being able to figure out Kikuzawa's trick.
Fukunaga is already put to the side in the Contraband game, something I think is necessary to let readers get used to her presence after having been an antagonist for 2 games, but small moments like this still let us see her personality outside of being the violent one in the group. She's used to being in control and hates that she can't stop a greedy asshole (not entirely unlike what she herself was acting like in the Downsizing game) from doing as he pleases, which shows a first step towards her changing.
Thirdly, THE PAYOFF TO NAO GETTING THE INFO OUT OF YOKOYA!!
Why on EARTH would they take this out?! This is the first time in the entire story where Nao has taken an initiative in a game, and successfully gotten information out of the enemy that is the literal reason Akiyama figures out what's going on, and they JUST REMOVED IT! This pisses me off! The entire balance between Nao and Akiyama is this, right here, and they've erased Nao's part in it and just made it the Akiyama show, WHICH IS TOTALLY AGAINST THE POINT KAITANI WANTS TO MAKE!!
Lastly, and it's much smaller, but Akiyama hammering it in to Sato to follow the instructions.
I don't know exactly why this bothered me, maybe I was just annoyed at this point, but the fact that it's such a simple "here's a piece of paper" and Sato just calmly taking it didn't sit right with me. This is when Akiyama starts getting aggressive, and him putting more pressure on an already scared Sato felt like it made the triumph of it working, and the reveal that followed hit harder for me.
I hate, hate, HATE to say it, but this episode left a really sour taste in my mouth.

I will be more cautious going into the next one for sure.

Theorizing is what makes Liar Game so much fun, and those who have never experienced the story before undoubtedly want to share their thoughts about what they think will happen. A correct theory, even if the poster don't know for sure if it's correct, can sour the experience for someone else. So, to be safe, please hide your theories so that the choice in whether to read them or not lies with the individual.
FOR MANGA READERS:
This means that theory posts will now use the spoiler tag, that does not mean that spoilers can freely be talked about in the comments. If you comment a spoiler under someone's theory it needs to be hidden like always! We understand that this is a bit confusing, but after discussing amongst ourselves we agreed that this is the best way to go for now.
NEW RULE #5:
No mentions of any potentially offensive topics like real world politics or religion.
Firstly, this does not include anything in universe or discussions about the political intent of Liar Game. However, personal politics, religious beliefs etc should not be mentioned or discussed as this can lead to unnecessary arguments that have no place here.
(For clarity, someone mentioning their gender or sexual orientation does not count towards this rule. Everyone are welcome here!)
It's rare that we see this happen, but since it has happened we decided to add a rule to make it clear where this sub stands. We're here to gush about a manga/anime/drama about people playing games, not get depressed about the real world.

I want to precede this post by explaining why I made my last post quickly.
I posted after episode 2 or 3 of the anime that I would stop looking at people's reactions to the anime outside of this sub, and I've done an amazing job at that! I haven't looked at MAL, Anilist, IMdb, youtube reactions, nothing, and I've been very happy that way! The only reason I went to the MAL page today was to see if the episode count had been confirmed, and that's when I saw how many negative reviews there were, which actually made me really sad.
SO!
To get the bounce in my step back I wanna hear what everyone's favourite aspects of the anime are so far!
My own personal favourite thing is the same as it's been from the start; the voice cast!
So far everyone are doing such a fantastic job, both in Japanese and English (RIP Mike from ep 10 onwards </3) and I honestly think that I will never be able to read the manga without hearing these voices in my head again!
To me seeing the characters come to life with voices is the most exciting part of any anime adaptation, so I'm super happy that they nailed that part!
I also love the music a lot! I wish they'd use it more, but when they do use it it hits really hard!
Please tell me yours! I need the positivity~
Can one or two people go over to MyAnimeList and leave a positive review??
Asking feels wrong, but seeing that the majority of reviews have listed the anime as "not recommended" just made me way more sad than I ever thought it would.
(I have a strict personal rule of never leaving reviews unless I've finished a show, or I would have left one myself)
I've found chapter 4 of The Last Game in Spanish. If anyone who knows Spanish can translate that would save all of us from out agony, and you would have the eternal gratitude of the entire sub!!

I got multiple people telling me that they couldn't add flairs to posts and it took me a while to realise that a certain button wasn't what I thought it was. Turns out it was likely needed in order for everyone but us to use the flairs.
I obviously can't check if they're now available for everyone, so if a non mod could try and see if they can now access the post flairs that would be extremely appreciated~
If they do indeed work now it would be great if they were used, esp for things like fan art and questions to make things easier to find!

I know that we're all excited about what's coming, but I need to remind everyone, esp those who have read the manga or watched the J-drama, that we do have a lot of anime only watchers in the sub.
Even small comments and hints have the risk of spoiling characters and strategies. If you're ever unsure it's better to be safe and hide whatever you're posting/commenting.
For clarity: If a post is tagged as spoiler then the comments under that post are free to also talk about spoilers as well. However, if a post is not marked as spoiler then the comments under that post are expected to hide spoilers since anyone can click the post thinking it's safe.
I've made the decision to allow mentions of the Contraband game and the character called Yokoya since those words have been thrown around a lot already, but going into the next arc we will be harsher on spoilers since the reveals could be easily ruined just by mentions of certain characters' relationships etc.
