I never got why people didn't like the animation

When people first complained about the animation, I thought that they meant how you could kind of see the frames. But I've checked out a few other anime releasing this season, and I don't really see anywhere that it's any better.

I think it was a really nice touch to have the >!Downsizing Game start with a bunch of wind and crap going on. The Minority Game started with it being nice and sunny outside, but now the weather is awful, and menacing, mirroring how this Game is gonna be tougher than the previous, without Akiyama and taking place in a broken down bowling alley with no food or water in sight.!<

I honestly don't know how I would improve on this Anime other than very minor things. I love how the people behind it very clearly. Read the manga carefully and are trying to do every part right.

Akiyama deleting him from the plane of existence

I love how Akiyama is so mad about >!Kikuchi cheating so transparent by following the joker.!< Funniest moment in a while reading manga for me. What do you think about this?

Emoji and flair updates!

On the request of one of our lovely members I've added the official icons as sub emoji!

I've also added some user flairs that should be customizable! I also made some changes to the post flairs; the anime and manga flairs are now customizable, and since we get quite a bit of questions and fan art I've added flairs for those as well.

As I said in the welcome post, this is my first time modding a sub, so please don't hesitate to inform me of anything that can be done to improve the sub. I genuinely didn't know about these things until someone told me and it's so appreciated!

I started with 6, but please tell me if you want any other colours!
(For those that don't know, the user flairs really are just about the bg colour since you can change the text to anything you want ^^)

Happy usage, and thanks to everyone as always for being here~!

There's one thing that's annoying about this story

Hi, I didn't know the story, I'm enjoying the anime more or less, the strategies are interesting, it reminds me of Classroom of the Elite and Tomodachi Game which I watched recently, but the kindness of the two main characters, especially Nao, deeply irritates me and almost makes me want to give up watching. How can they be playing with horrible people who literally don't give a damn about them and yet help them pay off their debt? It doesn't make any sense to me.

I don't want hate, I just wanted to share my opinion.

The strategies are very good, it will probably make me continue.

Analysis: Liar Game Episode 7 significantly increases the odds of Liar Game having targeted Nao to be a player specifically to draw Akiyama into the game

We found out in the first episode that Akiyama was being released from prison soon, and that lawyer conveniently told Nao to seek help from a con artist, and with the knowledge from Episode 7 that Nao is very much like Akiyama's late mother, it now makes perfect why Akiyama chose to help Nao after she stayed in front of a shop for hours, and it's 'cause she's honest to fault and genuinely believes in the goodness of people.

I had predicted after Episode 4 that Liar Game might've deliberately engineered the scenario with Michiko's cheque being stolen to draw Akiyama into the game given how extremely suspicious it was for her to not remember anything about X aside from having a man's voice and how she had previously cashed her earnings before writing up a cheque for 100,000,000 given that it contradicted her stating that she was racked with guilt about having stolen that money since someone who was wouldn't have cashed it all to begin with, and Episode 7 shows that I was most likely correct about how suspicious that was.

The only thing I'm not 100% sure about is whether Yuji is also a Liar Game associate. I'm pretty confident that Michiko must be a Liar Game associate due to how suspicious the information she gave Akiyama was, but with Yuki/X I can see it going either way. I guess perhaps this Downsizing arc or future arcs could point to whether Yuji is also a Liar Game associate, but I won't make any firm conclusions for now.

Chibi-Smugiyama

In honor of Minority Rule ending this week, here is Chibi-Sumgiyama (ofc inspired by the iconic Frieren scene)

I don’t think I quite captured the mischief, but hopefully seeing Akiyama so gleeful is uncomfortable enough to throw people off.

Feel free to use this as a meme or put your own spin on it!

Fukunaga's or Hitomi's debt?

Is the description of "Hitomi" in the manga true, and if it is, is it true for the real Hitomi or for Fukunaga?

Liar Game episode 7: Discussion/Reaction

Welcome back to another Liar Game Monday, with episode 7 concluding the second game " Minority Rule". The anime is keeping up the pace of adapting 3 chapters per episode and I have to say the animation has been looking way more crisp!

First of all, the pacing of this week and last week's episode were perfect. Directors found a good recipe of concluding a game at the start of the episode adding character development scenes and concluding the episode with the introduction of a new game. Events unfolded similarly then in episode 3 with the conclusion of the first game, Nao being visited by the lawyer ending up the episode with her showing up to the second games venue against Akiyama's advice.

Second of all, I loved the visual representation of Akiyama's backstory and that's the pros of having a faithful adaptation that animates the manga panels 1 of 1! The anime didn't stretch out the backstory and I thought it was seamlessly integrated in the episode. I loved the conclusion of Minority Rule and I liked that it happened quite fast because the plan was already established behind the scenes and I'm curious to see first timers react to Mr.15 and Akiyama's strategy who really was ironclad! I'm sad that we won't be seeing Mr.15 again but I think he stole the show during his scenes in the second game.

Finally, I can't wait for the Downsizing game as it's in my opinion one of the greatest displays of strategy in the genre of games. I truly think that this will be what truly wins over the masses judging by the reception of "Minority Rule". It looks like the animation and the overall anime is improving as the show progresses It makes me even more excited for the >!Contraband game!<

Curious to hear everyone's opinion ☺️

there is a flaw in akiyama and 15 strat in minority rule

1st of all when fukunaga 15 and 11 wanted to tie and 11 thought fukunaga would try to trick them and win it wasnt possible akiyama voted no and to tie they need 1 no and 2 yes since their deal was to have fukunaga and 11 vote yes and have 15 vote no fukunaga couldn't trick them alone if she vote yes like she said then its a tie and if she vote no and betray 11 then 11 wins so there was no need to give their vote to 15 since a betrayal wasn't possible it would only be possible if fukunaga was allied with 15 and told 11 to vote no , then when they gave their vote to 15 for safety while it doesn't secure anything since a betrayal from 1 person wasn't possible 15 could have just destroy their yes vote like fukunaga did with akiyama's vote so then they are forced to vote no with akiyama and 15 can vote yes alone taking all the money for him(he had a contract with akiyama so he couldn't do it but they didn't know it) so basically giving their votes to 15 for safety while they are both supposed to vote yes and 15 is supposed to vote no is just useless because even if they wanted to betray they couldn't and 15 can destroy their votes and force them to vote no

The reviews are making me wonder if I'm just a good person or what

When Episode 3 came out, lots of people were trashing on Nao's decision to >!return the money to Fujizawa.!< I called it, but still- That scene moved me to tears, and yet other people weren't moved at all?

Even if you didn't like the scene, the way it was edited and the music SURELY would make ANYONE realize that they were SUPPOSED to find the scene moving... Right?

But people were talking like it was just any ordinary scene. It was like they watched a version of it without music or something.

I left a comment on someone's video saying that Fujizawa wasn't going to change by being punished but WOULD be changed by Nao's extreme kindness.

And someone responded, literally starting their comment with-

"If everyone in the world thought like you, the world would be a much better place."

And then went on to explain why I was still wrong in a way that I didn't really pay attention to because that first sentence stuck with me so much.

And that's the thing that I really don't get. Even though they hate Nao's decisions, they still acknowledge that she's a good person. They just consider that to be irrelevant when I would argue it's literally what her character is all about. And that's why I say these people are literally Fujizawa- Someone who also acknowledged that he was in the wrong morally, but just didn't care.

And hey, I would never say that I'm as kind as Nao. I definitely am not as forgiving as her, but I can aspire to be, and can admire that aspect of her. Only this show can demonstrate how forgiving someone can genuienly change them.

So, it's safe to say that the >!reviews of the next episode are f****d. But I don't really care. And I remember when I first read this part of the manga, and even though you could see betrayals coming, I still wanted to hope that everything would be okay, because you know, I was actually invested in the story and really wanted to see Nao be okay. And yet, other people will just see her as stupid and not find any in entertainment at all.!<

Episode 7 preview images

Episode Title- The Losers' Revival

Fukunaga, in collusion with Miura and contestant number 15, was aiming for a draw in the "minority vote." However, just as the vote counting was about to begin, Akiyama muttered that Fukunaga and his group had "fallen right into the trap." Fukunaga scolded the shaken Miura, telling him it was all just bluffing. And then, the vote counting finally began—and so, the second round of the Liar Game, "Minority Vote," came to a close. After the game ended, Akiyama disappeared from Nao's sight, leaving behind a message that he would find the organizer who was enjoying making weak people deceive each other. About a week after Nao lost contact with Akiyama, Tanimura, a Liar Game staff member, appeared before her. He recounted the past of Akiyama Shinichi, a genius con artist. What will Nao do when she hears the truth...?

Liar Game Episode 7 Reaction

I spend like the last 10 min in the video https://youtu.be/CYb2h3aqc0w talking about how to spot scams and understand ponzi and pyramid schemes - if anything watch that to avoid getting scammed, I have written 3 papers in this topic so its little bit of my bread and better I probably make a much longer vid later when the anime is over and talking about all the different scams and how to spot them etc anyway - serious comment over

AHAHHAHAHAHAHA
MOM HAHAHAH

Jesus christ that scene with the women that tricked his mom tbh just got me laughing she looked so OVER THE TOP EVIL HAHAHAHAHAHAH TRICKED U !!!!

This whole anime feels so much like an 80 show its constant like NANI !?!??! BAKANA !?!??!

that being said yeah this backstory (IF TRUE) does fit the show, a lot of people do get tricked by mlm / pyramid scheme so a very realistic tragic mom death scene compared to most anime

Is the Lawyer a friend or foe?

I don’t know if he’s a good person or not even though he looks so sleezy. If it wasn’t for him giving info on Akiyama, Nao wouldn’t have won the first game. Sure he was a bit mean to Nao during the introduction of the second game but I guess it was his job. He also let Nao enter the second game’s aftermath as a spectator. He also knows a little too much about Akiyama since the lawyer told Akiyama’s backstory to Nao and gives her some info even though he’s not allowed to. Idc about spoilers but I guess you can call him a “friend” for now.
