Why do people choose Akiyama over Nao?

Despite our girl being the center of everything in Liar Game, the popularity of the show is being carried by the two big brains. Is this because the SCD community found it first? I wish Nao, with her more shojo qualities, is also recognized as capable of handling what comes her way.

She is a more simpler character, in-between all the lies and deception, that leads by her will to keep moving forward and help the people around her; while indirectly inspiring them to become their best selves. Their are many videos praising and explaining the smart side of the series but nobody gets to the core. Is it because of the genre that she suffers or the real life setting that makes her innocence unnatural to modern eyes?
