[RFUK update] Rumour about MIR response in July

I hope it's OK to post this here. I just got the following from RFUK and thought it might be useful info for everyone in this subreddit:

Good morning everyone

We know many of you have been waiting anxiously for news following the MAC review, and we recognise just how stressful and exhausting this period of uncertainty has been for so many couples and families.

We want to share a brief update based on a meeting we had yesterday with UKVI/Home Office.

At this stage, there will not be an announcement in July. We are aware that speculation has been circulating, but we have been advised that this timing is not accurate.

Some of the confusion around “July” appears to be linked to other areas including a separate court judgment and a new bill relating to Article 8 / human rights considerations. The Home Office did say they are prioritising Appendix FM [spouse visas] in the overall work being done.

The current indication is that any announcement is more likely to come after the summer, in the autumn. However, this is not a fixed timeline and may depend on wider government processes and priorities at that time. Before any formal announcement is made, there are a number of steps that must take place, including cross-government agreement and Parliament being informed first. We have been told we [RFUK] will be informed ASAP once govn is informed.

We know this will come as deeply disappointing news. Many of you have been holding on for answers, and we share your frustration that families are still being left in limbo.

But this is also a crucial moment. Delays do not mean the outcome is decided — they mean there is still time to influence it. So few public know this policy exists and we as a community MUST continue to speak up clearly and consistently to ensure that any changes do not further harm couples and families.

The strength of this community has always been in its collective voice. The more we show the real impact of these policies, the harder it is for decision-makers to ignore the human cost.

We will keep pushing for fair, humane policies that protect families — and we will keep you updated as soon as there is any confirmed news.

Thank you, as always, for your resilience, your patience, and for standing together
