Hello everybody, before writing anything i have to say that i cannot do microsoldering.
I bought a used switch with low serial number (i checked and it is unpatched) for the purpose of modding however upon receiving the console i couldn't get it to connect to my pc (wouldn't show up on lsusb), after a bit of trial and error i deemed something about the usb faulty (the video and charging worked fine) however i was slow at doing so and unfortunately the return window expired so i tried giving it to a repair shop that would be able to do microsoldering and they discovered that the usb controller had a huge hole in it made by the previous owner (probably he opened it and his screwdriver fell). So now i'm left with a switch that is technically moddable but is not possible to do so, the quote i got from the repair shop to replace the usb controller was around 150€ (which is what i paid for the switch in the first place). What can i do? i'm assuming getting a modchip is going to be more expensive than replacing the usb controller chip.
