Do you ever feel confident enough to use without a backup?

This is my first cycle using a disc so I know I have plenty of time to learn.

With my cup, I had no problems just wearing the cup. But without any suction I just don't feel like I'll ever get to the point of just wearing the disc which is very annoying!

Does it become fooloproof eventually? It's currently so hit or miss whether I get a good fit or not

Are fungus gnats a problem and what to do about them?

I'm due to plant out my tomatoes this weekend. They're growing great and are big and producing some fruit! I noticed today when hardening them off that there were some fungus gnats in the trays underneath.

Do I need to do anything about them before planting out? Or will moving the plants outside resolve the issue?

I'm scared I've been desensitised by supermarket veg

I've just started growing this year and have been SO excited to finally have something to harvest.

I've just had a try of my marvel of four seasons lettuce and spinach and I... Don't like it 🫠

They're both so earthy, kind of bitter (the spinach is still young!) and meaty

I'm not the biggest fan of leafy greens in the world but I can eat and enjoy a salad. But not with these leaves! Kind of gutted

I'm in a reading slump and trying to get back into it. Postpartum brain X3 has done me no favours so I struggle to get into anything too complicated. I love post apocalyptic, tense, horror sort of stuff but open to any genre.

Kite runner - never read. Heard it's great and one of THE books to read. No idea what it's about.

Station eleven - remember it (at the time) as my favourite book but I can't actually remember it at all or why I loved it. As far as I can remember it's post apocalyptic setting but with a softer story about community etc.

Room - remember enjoying it. Remember the general gist of the story but will still feel like a new book to me. Probably the fastest paced/most thrilling option

EDIT:

Thank you so much everybody. I went with kite runner in the end as it felt worth it for a great book that I've never read. I'm really enjoying it so far and finding it easy to follow which is just what I need! I'm prepared for the emotional toll, I'm a bit of a masochist so dont mind a difficult read and I'm not *freshly* postpartum.

you've all got me excited to read every single one though! thanks 📖

Initial caveat to say I'm not the greatest at looking after plants.

This was sat in a ceramic pot and for weeks it's been dying. I've been trying to figure out whether I'm over watering, under watering, or too sunny/shady. For some reason it had never occurred to me to just take it out the pot. And look what I found! Oops

I've repotted it and given it a good drink.

Are these slightly yellow leaves likely to survive my negligence or will they all drop off 😭

EDIT: sorry I don't have time to reply to everyone but I'm very grateful for all the responses and have read through them all. I've had a good, thorough look at the plant and *drum roll* it's THRIPS!

you're all wonderful geniuses so thank you for helping me diagnose my ill-fated monstera 🌿

We're a short family but somehow my 18mo is steadily along the 91st centile for height and 99th for weight

Have I somehow created a 6ft chunky boy, when the tallest person in our families is 5ft 9? Or will he likely taper down ?
