MouchieLikesStories' analytical skill glaze

I feel like I need to share this to every major avm (or ava fan). MouchieLikesStories (youtube) is sooo underrated. She basically connected each character's fighting style to their personality, she interpreted each action of each character frame-by-frame. Not only does this show how goated she is, it also shows how deep the avm series actually goes.

Where to find spice

(This is a repost because I didn't get results I needed so I clarify)

So basically I read the onimai highschool doujinshi and it's basically become my source of good feelings. I want something that has specific dynamics between characters and alot of scared blushing. No nsfw please. Just normal and enjoyable like fanfiction typa thing but as an anime (or sfw doujinshi). I genuinely just get recommended nsfw the moment i try searching up a ship. Idc if it's a manga or manhwa aslong as it matches my request.

Need fantasizing anime

I need ones with good ships and slightly ecchi and cute vibes. Examples are Onimai and Onimai Highschool Doujinshi, better if sfw. Something that makes you flushed.

All my rom-com rankings to celebrate 200 anime watched

This is like a repost from r/romanceanime but because my post is still under moderation I'm just copypasting instead. I'm sorry if this is not allowed, I'm still relatively new to reddit.

First of all I wanna say that i'll be both objective and subjective so if an anime you didn't like is higher than an anime that you like I'm not saying that anime is better, I just liked it more. Also I won't be adding the rom-com anime that I didn't like so I can avoid getting cyberbullied.

Also ranking specifically rom-com anime in the aspect of romantic comedy (fluffy and cozyness) also I talk about why it's placed there not what it's about and the numbering is random order.

Based on 2 categories: writing (objective) and enjoyability (subjective)

DISCLAIMER: I am not a pro critic and I watched some of these like 1-5 years ago so I might be wrong and also there will be NO SPOILERS for the entire list.

B-tier Rank (Some good rom-coms that I enjoyed)

  1. Masamune-kun's revenge: has a very nice premise, I wouldn't say it has the best writing but it was very and I mean very enjoyable. If you watch it to the end it's decently satisfying but middle arcs like fujinomiya were kinda unnecessary in a way.

Writing pulls it down a couple notches but my enjoyability keeps it at B-tier.

  1. Komi can't communicate: yes I know this is a classic and was pretty good, I didn't really feel that amazing after watching it. Maybe because of the quality drops? Anyways the show was a nice quick watch (one of my first rom-coms btw) and it isn't really bad just didn't hit that hard. It is actually a good high school rom-com but compared to other things I've watched it was just good.

Writing can't judge lowk forgot most of it but I remember that it wasn't that bad and enjoyability is decent.

  1. Teasing Master Takagi-san: this was pretty good and had a good plot as well however once again, it didn't hit too hard other than the ending and resolution, that was nice.

Writing is nice and enjoyability was nice.

  1. Shikimori's not just a cutie: An enjoyable romance about a guy who gets protected by a cool girl. Good quick watch but can't really remember too many impactful scenes.

Writing is good and enjoyability was good but i didn't grow too attached.

  1. Kubo won't let me be invisible: it's pretty well-written and it has a great production quality, once again held back by having one season. A good one-day binge.

Writing is good and enjoyability is great.

  1. Quintessential Quintuplets: I actually really enjoyed the show but my only problem is the rushed ending and forced hate towards the other girls besides yotsuba. Would've been A-tier if the pick wasn't rushed.

Writing slowly got worse but still enjoyable to be above mid.

  1. Mayonaka Heart Tune: Great premise, nice watch, and above all mc is so cool.

Writing is nice and I really enjoyed watching it.

  1. Mikadono Sisters: Alright. Same level as masamune-kuns revenge. The writing isn't amazing but I still binged and enjoyed that thing more than I did with oregairu in A-tier as a rom-com.

Writing is lowk alright but it was enjoyable enough to be better than mids.

A-tier Rank (Great rom-coms with nearly no flaws)

  1. Roshidere / Alya hides her feelings in Russian: first of all, it's nice and cozy with a lot of potential but the animation and production quality pulled it up to A-tier however because it only has 1 season I can't fully enjoy the romance yet.

Writing is pretty good (for now, prob will get better in future seasons) and it was really enjoyable. Man, I need s2 of this.

  1. You and I are Polar Opposites: feels like horimiya and has a big cast and second season is currently releasing but for now it stays at A-tier. Really good though with a unique character casting and a unique artstyle.

Writing is awesome and is really enjoyable and comfy.

  1. Fruits Baskets: This was one of the most unique watches in my entire life. A one of a kind romance anime that is only A-tier because it's more of a romantic drama and because it was slightly out of my personal tastes.

Writing is absolute fire with an amazing plot and character arcs that make the show's ending so worth the watch as for enjoyability I loved it however it was more because of the tension rather than the fluffy nice feeling of rom-coms.

  1. Toradora: a classic among classics. a good binge-watch and despite how old it is the premise still stands out. Some characters didn't act like good people but who cares, they have their flaws.

Writing is pretty great and enjoyability was good.

  1. Blue Box: this is one of the only anime with a good love triangle. Where both sports and romance become entangled into an extremely enjoyable mesh of both hype and fluff.

Writing is awesome and enjoyment is awesome. Only thing holding it back from S-tier is the lack of a second season.

  1. My Dress-up Darling: this has around the same production quality as the S-tiers however it is only held back by a little dragged out plot. There are a lot of fluffy (and ecchi) scenes that make you feel good and the characters are also great. A great watch.

Writing is good and the enjoyability of the show brings it up to A-tier.

  1. Pseudo Harem: the best if you want a quick watch. premise is great, artstyle is unique, and it's just fluffy and chill with nearly no drama at all except for acting.

Writing is good and it was enjoyable enough to put in A-tier.

  1. Your name. : it's a movie, of course it's good. Premise is awesome and the only thing holding it back from S-tier is that just like fruits baskets, it's good because of plot, not because of the rom-com fluff.

  2. Oregairu / My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU: some people call it the best rom-com ever, however I don't agree. In the same way bgs isn't really a rom-com oregairu is also not really a rom-com. I talked about this on the comment section of animetsu: it's the slowest burning rom-dra (romantic burning) out there. If you aren't focused or locked in you will lose the plot along with the background romance like how I did within 1 season. However, despite my lack of enjoyability (in terms of rom-com I actually liked the show in other ways) the writing is still good enough to be in A-tier.

Writing is amazing but as a rom-com enjoyability was pretty mid. (I enjoyed the plot and characters though)

  1. Second prettiest girl: the premise seems normal however the execution of the show made it DESERVE A-tier. The characters have personalities and development that feel so good to the eyes with a nice balance of cute scenes and dramatic scenes this became one of the most hyped up series. Only held back from S-tier by the lack of more seasons and a few other reasons.

Writing is gorgeous enough to be S-tier and it was also enjoyable enough to be S-tier but I didn't put it there because for some reason I wasn't as impacted by it as the other S-tiers.

S-tier Rank (Best among the bests)

  1. Horimiya: nothing gets closer to the best slice-of-life rom-com than horimiya (fits all tags like a glove). Only a very few types of anime can give this vibe (such as 2 within my top 10 favorites but that's unrelated). Hori is a little bit of a red flag but who cares, still a good character. I love the character dynamics between the characters.

Writing is nice and my enjoyability was very very high bringing it up to S-tier.

  1. Love is War: Here it is, the ultimate rom-com. The first 2 seasons we're extremely enjoyable with nice little character interactions that make you feel happy and attached to the characters. This was my first rom-com and it is still one of the best I've watched. But the reason why this is S-tier is because of the amazing amazing s3. Dang it was amazing.

Writing is very peak (aka akasaka is the goat) and enjoyment was even higher.

  1. Love, Chuunibyo, and Other Delusions: ahh yes, one of the best products of kyoto animation. With an amazing plot, amazing characters, and great rom-com fluffy interactions and character arcs on par with the best anime out there this anime is truly fit for S-tier.

Writing is exceptional and my enjoyability skyrockets, this is one of my favorite rom-com animes of all time.

  1. Makeine: Too many Losing Heroines: what to say... This gives all the vibes of a multi-seasoned romance anime in only one season along with great character dynamics and character development. With an insanely good production quality and plot and an amazing premise that stands out among so many other romance anime. No wonder this anime immediately gained a huge fanbase upon release.

Writing is has so much potential and i enjoyed it nearly as much as chuunibyo: in only one season.

  1. Dangers in my Heart: My most recent watch. If you are looking for a rom-com between 2 people,

BEST FOR LAST
6. Ramparts of Ice: This may not feel like it should belong in S-tier however it has some of the most realistic characters one could ask for. Multiple misunderstandings appear in one episode and then get fixed in the next episode along with character dynamics and development. Everything just keeps evolving and it NEVER gets boring yet it still has peak pacing. There's like a 4 dimensional love-tesseract that's so complex yet it isn't frustrating at all. This is currently one of the rom-coms that I am trying to promote because of how seemingly normal it is but in reality it is one of the if not THE best character-driven story of all time: IN ONE SEASON BY THE WAY.

Writing is absolutely extraordinarily perfectly amazing the way it focuses on characters with the perfect amount of cute and dramatic scenes. If you can't tell I enjoyed this the most out of all others on this list. (2 sentences in the second paragraph)

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Some good anime that weren't added to the list simply because they aren't focused on romance or because I haven't watched enough to confirm quality:

  1. Call of the night
  2. Oshi no Ko
  3. DanDaDan
  4. Sparks of tomorrow
  5. Steins gate (if it even counts)
  6. 100 girlfriends (more comedic and ecchi than romantic 😭)
  7. Bunny Girl Senpai (too much like monogatari series to be rated as a romance)
  8. Kimi ni Todoke (seems really good but it is more friendship based, haven't finished)
  9. Ouran Highschool Host Club (haven't finished yet)
  10. Marriage Toxin

Who knows any anime or manga with a protagonist that is smart?

Who knows any anime or manga where the mc can solve some insanely difficult problems.

For example(anime), a normal guy solves a giant hurdle: Subaru is faced with the choice to save something and let the other get destroyed but he somehow chooses to save both.

Another example(manhwa), a normal guy knows everything that is gonna happen through a book and is now a mastermind: Dokja plans multiple things ahead of time and gets the most out of the problems he solves.

Quick clarification: not smart like senku where he's just a genius but someone clever and crafty in finding solutions. (Hikigaya Hachiman fits this too)

The only anime that's like Onimai(suggestion)

Onimai is a goated slice-of-life despite the ecchi. It's my second favorite among 200 anime over many genres but I have never seen anything like it until I found New Game!. So if you are like me and you need another cozy anime like Onimai with goated characters go watch new game. (It has 2 seasons)

I NEED COMFORT CHARACTERS

I want a rom-com or slice of life that's genuinely just comfy. It should have good character dynamic and growth.

Examples:

Love is War

Love Chuunibyo

Horimiya

Onimai (goated)

New Game! (goated 2)

(Not saying the last two are better than the previous ones but those are what I'm looking for)
