27 [M4F] North Africa / Anywhere – Looking for something real, with the hope that it becomes forever.
I've been single for about six years now, and for a long time I wasn't really looking to change that. Life was busy, I had other things to focus on, and I never liked the idea of dating just for the sake of dating.
Lately, though, I've reached a point where I genuinely feel ready to share my life with someone again.
I'm 27, from North Africa, 178 cm (5'10"), and yes, my Reddit profile picture is actually me, so at least you won't have to wonder who you're talking to.
The easiest way to describe myself is probably calm. I'm introverted, but not distant. I usually need a little time to warm up to people, especially on voice or video calls. Texting is definitely where I'm at my best in the beginning. Once I'm comfortable, though, I'm much more relaxed, and you'll probably get more memes than you asked for.
I work as a store manager and go to the gym four times a week. Not because I'm chasing some perfect physique—my diet would strongly disagree—but because it's one of the best ways I've found to clear my head after work.
Recently I've also been trying to spend less time mindlessly scrolling and more time doing things that actually require my attention. Chess has become one of those things. It's humbling, frustrating, and strangely satisfying all at once.
I'm a practicing Muslim, and my faith is an important part of my life. I'm not looking for someone who's exactly like me, but I am looking for someone who believes in God, respects religion, and wants to build a relationship on shared values rather than temporary excitement.
I'd describe myself as fairly old-fashioned. I still think loyalty matters. Respect matters. Keeping your word matters. I like the idea of building a quiet life with someone instead of constantly chasing whatever the world says we're supposed to want next.
As for interests, I'm a huge fan of horror movies, although my favorite film is probably 12 Angry Men. My comfort show is Friends. I enjoy anything related to technology and cars, and one hobby I'd really like to get into is painting. I've been saving artwork I'd love to recreate one day—I just haven't taken the leap yet.
If everything goes well, I'd love to have a family someday. That's always been my goal. I don't really believe in dating without purpose. For me, getting to know someone is about seeing whether we could build a lasting life together.
I'm not looking for perfection, and I don't have a long checklist of physical preferences. Attraction matters, of course, but character matters much more. Kindness is probably the fastest way to make me admire someone. Loyalty and respect aren't negotiable.
As for me, one flaw I'll admit right away is that I can seem a little awkward at first. My social battery takes a while to warm up. If we click, though, that awkwardness disappears pretty quickly.
I'm open to a long-distance relationship if we're both serious about eventually meeting and closing the distance. I'm also open to relocating if life takes us in that direction and it makes sense for both of us.
If you've made it this far, thank you.
Maybe you're someone who still believes that a quiet life isn't a boring life. Maybe you think a peaceful home is a bigger achievement than an exciting social media feed. Maybe you value faith, family, kindness, and loyalty as much as I do.
If that sounds like you, I'd genuinely enjoy getting to know you. And if not, I hope you find exactly what you're looking for.
