I came across something about NASA’s PUNCH mission that I thought was pretty cool

Apparently, scientists were able to use it to predict when a solar eruption would reach Earth in one test, the prediction was accurate to around 30 minutes.!!!

30 minutes might not sound like much, but considering we’re trying to predict something that happened millions of kilometers away on the Sun, that’s pretty impressive. :)

It got me wondering: could we eventually get reliable warnings hours or even days before a major solar storm hits Earth?

Curious what people here think about how far solar weather forecasting can actually go.

JWST may have found a completely new kind of cosmic object

One of the strangest recent JWST discoveries is *MoM-BH-1*\*, an object that existed only \~660 million years after the Big Bang.

Researchers think it could be a black hole surrounded by a huge cloud of extremely dense gas, making it appear almost like a star..

What really caught my attention is that objects like this might help explain the mysterious **“little red dots”** JWST keeps finding in the early universe.

If this interpretation is correct, could these “black hole stars” be an early stage in the formation of the supermassive black holes we see today?

What do you think — genuinely new type of object, or an unusual version of something we already know?

Bitcoin’s biggest debate right now might not be about price

The BIP-110 situation has raised an interesting question:
who should ultimately decide what changes Bitcoin?

Miners can signal support, developers can propose changes, nodes can reject blocks, and users can choose which software to run.

If a proposed Bitcoin change has strong support from developers but very little support from miners, should it have any realistic path to becoming part of Bitcoin?

I’m genuinely curious where the community draws the line.

Miners, developers, node operators, or users — who should have the most influence over Bitcoin’s future?

If someone wanted to understand cryptocurrency beyond trading and price speculation, what would you recommend they learn first?

There is an overwhelming amount of information about blockchain, tokenomics, DeFi, wallets, consensus mechanisms, and smart contracts. I’m interested in hearing what experienced people consider the most important fundamentals for a beginner.
