I’m trying to decide between the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and I’d like opinions from people who have actually used one or both long term.

Things I care about most:

- Battery life

- Gaming performance & thermals

- Longevity (how well it’ll hold up after 3–5 years)

- AI features/performance

- Camera quality (photos + video)

- Overall optimization/smoothness

- Real useful features in daily use

Current devices:

- iPad

- Samsung Watch 4

- Windows PC

Current phone:

- Samsung S24 FE

I’m not really locked into one ecosystem yet, so I’m trying to figure out which one would actually be the better overall experience for my use case.

For people who switched from Samsung to iPhone (or vice versa), do you regret it?

- Which one has the better real-world battery life?

- Which one is better for gaming over long sessions?

- Which one ages better over time?

- Are Apple Intelligence or Galaxy AI actually useful?

Edit: I also value Face id, privacy/security that apple gives and it is the main reason why I am even considering an iPhone.

Hi everyone, I found great deals for both; they're both used, 512GB, A grade. I am currently using an S24 FE. I love Samsung's features like the S Pen, anti-reflective display, Gemini being integrated, and Galaxy AI, and I own a Samsung Watch. However, I also have my eye on an iPhone because I've never used one. I think its looks are better, I own an iPad, I prefer face unlock optimization, and the support that Apple gives. Which one is worth the money and better for daily driving? Also, I forgot to mention that I play mobile games a lot and take many photos and videos.

Edit: I've increased my budget a bit more, so now I'm also considering the 16PM. It is newer and a direct competitor to the S25 Ultra.
