Just changed landline service to AT&T Home Phone cellular based

Hey all,

I recently changed my copper based landline service to the new AT&T Home Phone cellular based service since they were going to be shutting down the old landline service next March. Anyway, I've had the new system up and running after self installing about two weeks ago. I got a bill for the new service for something like $75, and just mailed it today. When I got home, I found another bill from AT&T for $128, which is what I used to pay for the old landline service. Am I prepaying for the new service and still owe for the old?

Landline telephone line

Last week I upgraded to the AT&T Home Phone cellular based service to replace my old landline phone that I’ve had for decades. The new service is up and running and seems to be fine.
My question is about the old phone line running from the back of my house to the pole in the alley. Will AT&T eventually remove it or can I just cut it a couple feet from where it attaches to the house? It’s kind of an eyesore and I’d like to have it gone.

How do I unlock the rear wheels on a new Husqvarna IG4375?

Last month I purchased a new Husqvarna IG4375 generator to replace an older Coleman unit. This one has four wheels, and the two rear wheels are locked unless I lift up on two red balls next to the rear wheels. I can't seem to get them to stay unlocked and have to bend over and hold the two red balls the whole time or they lock up again. The generator looks almost identical to the one in the attached picture, except the two rods next to the wheels on the left have a red ball on the end. There is nothing in the owners manual about this. Anyone know how this is done? The thing weighs 100lbs.

Considering canceling Xfinity TV service

I'm paying almost $350 every month for cable TV and hi-speed internet. Lately, I've realized that we don't really watch regular TV anymore, and mostly have been using streaming services like Prime or Netflix. My wife loves watching old classic movies on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) and AMC (American Movie Classics).

Does anyone know if these two are available to stream on a Roku Ultra device?

AT&T Home Phone

I still have an old copper based landline that will be turned off in March of 2027. I had a service tech come out today to trouble shoot why my phone doesn't work, and he and I were discussing the upgrade to the new AT&T Home Phone plan. He said it was cellular based. I thought it was internet based. I just checked the AT&T website and it says that it is internet based and "AT&T Phone may require an internet connection provided by AT&T for an add’l cost."

Since I have my internet thru Comcast, can I just use that internet connection or do I have to have a second one thru AT&T just for the new phone service?

I hate my local Jewel food store

I've been shopping at the Jewel Osco store in Munster, Indiana ever since the Dominicks food store in Lansing closed up decades ago. During all these years I've been relatively pleased with the shopping experience until recently. I don't know what the problem is, but I believe it has to do with whoever is managing the store. It used to be clean, staffed appropriately, and I could get in and out in about 15 minutes. Within the last couple of years though, they've had just a few cashiers working resulting in long lines and wait times. They've also been restocking shelves during the middle of the day instead of at night. As a result, they have huge pallets in the middle of the aisles that block 60% of the aisle and create traffic jams for shoppers. The place is also filthy, and the music choice from the overhead speakers is either a grunge type genre or a sort of rap. Not a fan of either. Over the years I've learned where everything is located and as a result, I can zoom through the aisles and be in and out very fast. Now, they are in the process of rearranging everything. I no longer can find what I'm looking for and have to go up each and every aisle searching. What is the point of this? It makes no sense. I've had enough. It's more expensive than other stores in the Chicago area, yet they're doing everything they possibly can to piss off their customers. I'm going to start shopping at Strack & Van Tils from now on. Great job, Jewel management!

What’s a good component speaker brand these days?

The drivers door speakers sound awful and I’m pretty sure they’re blown. No highs, very little bass and muffled midrange. I’m trying to narrow down my search to 5.25” woofers and .75” or 1” tweeters to fit in my 2000 BMW 5 series. I’ve been looking at brands like JL Audio, Hertz, Focal, and Alpine, but when I see something that looks like it might work, I read reviews that leave me confused. My price point is about $500 a pair, maybe a bit more if worth it. Any suggestions fellas? Thanks
