We started CanineJoy Gears because we were genuinely frustrated ourselves.

Most pet products we bought either didn’t last long, or the actually good quality ones were crazy expensive.

Like I’ve literally seen similar quality beds selling for ₹8k+, even ₹15k-17k in some places.

We spent months trying to make something durable and practical without pricing it like luxury furniture 😛

Got it down to under ₹3k and honestly I think that’s why people slowly started trusting us.

Most customers still place COD on their first order - which is fair tbh, even I’d do the same from a new company online.

But then you randomly get WhatsApp photos/videos like this from customers and you realise okay… maybe we’re actually building something people genuinely like 😄

Also learned a lot from Reddit communities like this itself tbh - logistics, Meta ads, packaging, COD issues… everything 😭

Getting good customer reviews but sudden drop in sales - would love honest website feedback

Would love some honest feedback on our website/store experience - caninejoygears.com

We’ve actually been getting consistent customer reviews lately (and now asking customers to post them on Google + our website too), so the products themselves seem to be landing well.

But suddenly over the last 2–3 days sales have slowed down quite a bit. Right now almost 100% of our traffic comes from Meta ads, so trying to understand whether:

  • the website has trust/conversion issues
  • product pages need work
  • or this is more of an ads/platform issue.

Would genuinely appreciate brutally honest feedback 🙏

Backend SDE with 5 YOE left job for profitable startup - should I mention it on resume while applying again?

Need some honest career advice from experienced folks here.

I have ~5 years experience as a Java backend engineer (Spring Boot, Kafka, AWS, microservices). Worked at Paytm and most recently at S&P Global/Osttra.

In June 2025, I left my job to start a pet accessories company. Surprisingly, it’s now profitable and mostly automated with minimal daily involvement.

Now I’m considering getting back into software engineering while continuing the business passively. I’m targeting around 22–30 LPA and preferably remote / flexible hybrid roles.

My confusion is:

  • Should I mention the founder experience directly on my resume?
  • Or keep the resume purely SDE-focused and explain the business only during HR calls/interviews?
  • Will recruiters see this as a positive (ownership/initiative) or as a red flag (might quit again / distracted)?
  • Also, how’s the current backend hiring market in India for 5 YOE Java engineers? Is hiring still decent for Spring Boot/Kafka/AWS profiles or has AI + market slowdown affected it heavily?

Would appreciate honest opinions from people currently hiring/interviewing in the Indian market.
