Goblet of Fire was made in....

Hermione is fascinated by the Goblet and convinces Harry to sneak her down to look at it after the flame has gone out - maybe there is a way to get him out of the tournament?

When she recognises the types of runes inscribed on it, even faded and worn as they were, a suspicion forms.

She performs just two charms to cement her hypothesis, a simple one to determine its age and a more obscure one to find where it was made. The latter was generally useless in moder times and ignored as it only gave a general area and the number of artifacts that came from 'London' or 'Paris' meant it usually didn't help narrow things down.

But this time it did. Age = 2012 years, location = somewhere in the region of Mount Tabor.

A weight settled in her stomach that quickly hatched into a swarm of caffinated butterflies. When she told Harry the results - he was busy keeping watch - he blinked, then immediately filled the cup with water and offered it to his best friend.

If the cup gave life then maybe it could get them through this tournament in one piece!

Cold Water Mangroves

New here, had a shower thought.

Erosion is a big problem where I live and my mates and I were dreaming up ways to stop it.

In rivers we use willow-bank-revetments but willow won't grow in salt water and mangroves won't grow at our latitude.

Would it be possible to take dna from one or the other and swap it to fix that?

A mangrove forest protecting the uk's east coast would be both cool and lifesaving.

PTSD Hair-trigger Harry

A fic where the order throws harry a suprise party at grimmauld.

Harry freaks, thinks he is being attacked and takes everyone down in an instant. Moody thinks its hilarious, everyone else is terrified because they had no idea harry was so badass

Set between 4th and 5th year I think?

Insane shower idea

2 Harry Potters!

Wrong boy who lived trope, except there is a mix up (like with adam in good omens) and both Petunia and the Potters think they have Harry Potter.

The real one (and boy who lived) goes to Petunia, the wrong one (who everyone thinks is Harry and grows up being called that) with the potters.

Magic is all about intent, so the wrong boy is actually identified as 'Harry Potter' too once everyone recognises that as his name.

Real Harry gets accused of being a glory theif at the sorting even though he didn't know magic existed until a week ago (no follow up letters or visit because fake 'Harry' had his)

You'll never take me alive Minerva!

Looking for a fic that involves a fun/good/wierd Dumbledore who never does his paperwork. It drives McG nuts, because she needs his signature.

One scene involves the mc's chilling on the stairs talking to Dumbledore when he backflops over the railing as Mcgonagal runs up to grab him.

The next second he is holding onto the edge of one of the floating staircases with one hand and sucking on a lollipop with the other.

Freakout

The only time the dursleys ever touched Harry was for violent punishment, so when the magicals all swarm him in The Leaky Cauldron Harry understandably freaks out.

Magically, physically, emotionally.

He could run or hide, shut down or go full-on obscurial. Suprise me!

There is one trope I would love to read more of;

Harry is bullied out of Hogwarts and Britain, everyone turns on him for some reason and he leaves.

BUT I want the story to be focused on the hell that life becomes without him, interspersed with snatches of him living it up on white sandy beaches, learning cool magic and dating veela etc.

I want to read about bullies suffering!
