Deez Nuts originally had a headline club show in Hamburg in about 5 days. They canceled their own headline show on short notice before announcing, they would play a festival show somewhere else instead. The festival now released a statement after facing backlash:

"Dear people,

we’ve caught wind of the frustration around the Deez Nuts cancellation at @monkeysmusicclub and want to clearly state our position here.

First off: of course we’re thrilled that the guys will be stepping in at Tells Bells, but we completely understand the frustration from Monkeys and everyone else. Clubs like Monkeys are the backbone of the European punk and hardcore scene. Without the clubs, nothing works, period ✊

But now the good news: Deez Nuts and their booking agency have found a solution we’re happy about. The band will play at our festival Saturday midday - and then head straight to Hamburg to play the show at Monkeys. That’s the right way to handle it, and that’s exactly what earns our respect. That’s not easy, that’s love for the scene, which people refused to credit them for.

We’ll say it clearly: bands and booking agencies that take criticism to heart and then handle it this well - we think that’s great.

That’s the spirit we need here.
