This is us few days ago. Now its rain rain rain... :( Princess hates rain! Bebben prefers rain outside than rain beating the stable roof :)

By the way, don't tell my hubby I'm posting all these videos of him 🤣

I found more videos from this winter. This time we took Princess Glimma out for a walk without her horsie friend, to build up her confidence. She was alert, curious, and happy. I am glad she fully trusts us. Nevertheless, she couldn't hide her excitement when she saw home, so she tried to trot back into her paddock. Sadly I didn't catch that part :)

Princess is wearing what I was told is a military/artillery harness of Swedish army, from the WW2. This is the only harness that fits her as she is pretty thick, but is still growing so we don't want to custom order her a new one until she settles in her size.

I just discovered I can put videos here :) So here's a little throwback to this winter when our young mare (she was 4 here) pulled her first log (small birch) out of the forest.

She loves to work and loves to concentrate and get all the praise when she does a good job. But you can see the insecurity in her steps when choosing the path (we let her choose the path she thinks its the best and gently correct her only if she makes a judgment mistake).

And who is with us? Her best friend Bebben, who is afraid of hard work and would rather take little girls on a ride through snowy magical forest.

Nije fijaker, nije lipicaner, ali je Princeza na zadatku!

It's chanterelle season :) I am not an expert in finding them, but I was lucky last year (late in the season) and got to make chanterelle sauce that pairs well both with BBQ pork and salmon (didn't take a photo of salmon). Yummu! But let's see if I will be lucky this year :)

I am not sure if this is perch as neighbor gave it to me and said so :) Salted, smoked and served on home made flat bread (imitation of naan) with creme fraiche, fresh onions, and cucumber.

Beautiful blueberry season. They came early and decided to stay for a long time, so we get to pick a lot! And eat a lot of pie :)

While the rest of Europe enjoys the heat wave, we have a pleasant 18degrees in Lapland, and horsies enjoyed their day out. It was also the first time Princess (the one pulling) crossed the bridge and she thought the water was suspicious and rushed, but with lots of praise she quickly calmed down and continued with her usual steady pace. Bebben (the riding horse) is a pro, and he takes his little rider on an adventure all the time!

A little cake I made up because I had unannounced guests and this was done in under 30 minutes. Crumble pie crust topped with chopped nectarines cooked in sugar with pectine, and a pinch of cinnamon. Nothing more, nothing less but the taste was surprisingly good!

Cloudberries grow in northern, sub-arctic and arctic tundras, mires, and forests. The taste reminds me of fermented apples, but its also very unique. These I picked myself, boiled them into jam and served it hot over vanilla ice-cream. Staple dessert in Sweden though some people prefer just microwaved cloudberries (no sugar, no long cooking) over ice-cream.

My first post :) yes, I know salmon is cut weirdly, I wield knives badly...
