York Development Handguards

PLEASE STOP DOING THIS!

I don’t step on toes but I have to say something, there is an individual on this Reddit page (SLIDE TWO is his handle, he’s hawking them on tacswap too 🙄) who is charging an astronomical price for a product that is not even close to that price

I was happy to see other get the handguard and even happier to see someone helping others including this guy until I seen his post on his page and the price

York Development Handguards are not over $1100 not even after shipping, the handguard itself is around $350 no more than $400 period.

I understand this guy is trying to make a buck but to be a regular consumer just like the rest of us and preying on peoples lack of knowledge (and you’re literally the one gatekeeping the information that you didn’t even have when you got yours) and deceive them into really thinking it’s a challenging and expensive process when it’s really not is wild and then charging almost quadruple is even wilder

For starters, I was the first one to obtain this handguard after seeing it on google images over a year ago so I can literally tell you how the process goes considering I figured it out on my own with no hiccups BECAUSE IT WAS THAT SIMPLE 🙄

I found out the brand of the handguard second I reached out to the owner himself of that brand and asked him if he could sell me one of them

He responded and told me that he would, but I would have to go through their distributor because they did not have a North American distributor so I had to contact their overseas distributor

He forwarded all the information to me and after I reached out to the distributor, the distributor told me the price of the hand guard was around $300 and that I would need to pay through an invoice that process took around a few weeks considering they were going on some long holiday at the time right before I bought it

After that wait, I had to figure out my shipping the distributor offered to ship it for me, but it would cost me somewhere around $300 for them to ship it or I could go through my own shipping and figure it out on my own

So I looked up the nearest shipping company to their distributor facility and it was DHL and it was LITERALLY right down the street not even a mile. (THIS IS PROBABLY WHERE THIS GUY GOT THE IDEA TO UPCHARGE PEOPLE because whoever I was in touch with tried it on me) I went on the DHL website and just searched on my own how to do shipping for overseas. It’s right there on the website everything you need to know is all plug-in play just like any other shipping that you do when you check out on any other website.

The total cost of that shipping was around $90 so in total after paying the invoice to the distributor paying my own shipping cost DHL to schedule a pick up DHL came and got the package and shipped it to me in less than a week all for around $450 or something (I have screenshots of invoices)

Now Granite I got mine before the election and we got hit with all these tariffs so maybe the price is a little different but I can assure you that it does not cost of over $1100 for just one handguard shipping included that is triple the price that I paid for it

My main complaint is this is the problem with businesses are already robbing customers blind and wannabe businessmen who are really just consumers just like us try to follow suit, so he literally knows what it feels like to be overcharged and robbed. We’re not talking about an out of stock never to be made again part here. We’re talking about a product that is 100% in stock and not short on them considering I’ve only seen Belgium specifical forces and a German police force with them in the prototype phase years ago. I can see if he was charging $100-$150 extra for the total insight and help but 4 times the price is wrong and idc who gets upset about it not even a legitimate business would try that.

$1000 in muzzles reminds me of the 4 prong dark ages in 2018 😌 (MP7, 300/762, & 556 A2

Too much show and not enough show

Episode one literally proved they gave Taylor Sheridan all that money and he set ChatGPT to cruise control and left the writers room to go secure more checks for product placements and rub shoulders with rich corporate people and old retired SOF farts or less than a decade in service SF (maybe both because both are equally thirsty for internet world to know they exist still lol). Where is the soul in this at. Taylor Sheridan shows are exactly like the 50 Cents power shows, just a bunch of nothing happening now because of lazy writing.

Being completely honest what is even going on? They speed run through a random intel exchange at Georgetown and you can literally tell they all look out of place. The female spy says “FSB watches their own more than you” lol and while watching you they didnt once spot the QRF to include the random jacked 6 ft plus black guy with a beard running close by? Lol yea ok. And then they speed off and a black suburban with government plates 😂 yea real inconspicuous

It truly feels like there is no effort into the actual writing and dialogue. Every conversation is predictable and just jam packed with corny one liners that just makes this show cringe. Who actually talks like they do in what’s supposed to be serious situations.

I completely understand this is a series that heavily features drama but my god does the team have to get into an argument in the parts where it’s supposed to be serious. Like Jesus, why is there an argument every 15-30 seconds of the mission brief or literally while they’re in the middle of a mission.

Second main thing I notice is the complete over the top and nonsensical gun fights in Ukraine. I just knew it was going to turn into the Taylor Sheridan show as soon as they got there. Everything made sense but it was just a series of random things happening one after the other. For example who cooked up a script of a high value target being literally at the border of an Ukraine/Russian war? ChatGPT did that’s who lol. And then they get into a gun fight with drones 😂 im sorry but have you seen actual footage of that war, It hardly goes that way. That many drones coming at you, you might as well sit still and watch the fireworks, you’re going to the pearly gates.

My jab at rubbing shoulders with corporations for product placement has to do with the gun choices. Either they’re being paid to put unrealistic loadouts in play or they’ve stopped taking real advice entirely. Example why is there a random Geissele GFW being used? I’ll tell you why that $3000 gun is not worth the price tag and isn’t selling so I just know they paid to have it inserted. (Please invest in actual people that know what gear is being used or what it even looks like. Two red dot sights on a SBR was definitely something they seen on YouTube or instagram and ran to hell with it.)

when you start losing focus on good writing in favor of big explosions, theatrics and cool objects you literally diminish the quality of the series. It was already outlandish to a degree but it was very watchable. Now it’s like a TikTok series. Just a bunch of things happening. Don’t get me wrong I’ll still watch it but the replay value in this is so low now.

Mounts i thought id never find

In anticipation for the SP7 coming later this year i at first wanted an AAC mini4 and after seeing a Seal Team episode where Sunny was rocking an MP7 i thought I’d try looking for the Surefire mount which i thought to be long gone until Rooftop Defense got some in and charged double for them 😔

I was also looking for the A2 flash hider for an 11.5 build that Surefire discounted for some reason and i found them on Adorama for retail. It just took a month to get.
