Am I screwed?

I applied for PR through the PSTQ program and II received an invitation to request for a CSQ.

I submitted my file in January and my file is still under processing. And my open work permit expires in the end of August.

I thought or assumed foolishly that even though such tight situations arise, my company would support me by applying for a closed work permit. Turns out, without a CSQ in hand even my company cannot do anything to support me.

I looked searching everywhere and what I realized is that only people who have received their CSQ would be able to extend or apply for a work permit in order to extend their stay.

If I don’t receive my CSQ no later than mid June, I won’t have enough time to renew or extend my work permit. The processing times for work permit already show 200+ days, so looks like I’m just screwed. Worst case I need to go home and come back, but at what cost? What if I lose my job?

I regret not applying for PR at the Federal Level now (knowing I could get it way easily).

F Quebec man, I wouldn’t recommend applying for a PR from here unless you have more than 15 months of time before your work permit expires.

Apologies for my language.

Just wondering if that’s possible or if anyone has tried doing it.

I’ve applied for a CSQ and my file is still in the ‘En attente de traitement’ status.

I might get the CSQ just a few weeks before or a month before my work permit expires, so I’m not sure applying for an extension at that time would really work out.

Has anybody tried doing a road trip to New Foundland and Labrador from Quebec City?

If so, could you please share the route you took and the time spent for the entire trip?

Thanks!

Basically the question. I received an invitation to apply for CSQ through Quebec's PSTQ back in November 2025. It took some time for me to gather and submit all the documentation, and I finally submitted my file on Jan 15th.

When I looked at processing times a while back, I understood that it takes around 6 months to get a CSQ, and then another 6 months to get a PR through the federal government. I was optimistic that I would get CSQ a little less than 6 months because my documentation is strong and that I could easily apply for PR at the Federal level after.

But now I'm starting to worry a bit. My company needs me and I'm sure they will help me out if I ask, but I'm wondering if its too late for that. Because the processing time shows 217 days. Also, I want to switch companies soon and requesting for a closed work permit from them might imply that I should be loyal to them (I also feel bad about it).

So I was wondering what's the best course of action here? Wait or apply for a closed work permit anyways?

I’m trying to fill my taxes out for the first time and my dumb brain isn’t able to figure out the correct way of entering info in these fields under the RRSP section.

On top of that, I messed up my CRA account so I have only limited info (will be calling them tomorrow).

Looking at the info already entered in the first picture, can someone help me figure out how to find the unused contribution for 2024?

Also what are the first and last fields in the second image?

Thanks in advance
