Is it worth upgrading from io3 to io9?
Getting a really good deal on io9 for almost 70% discount however I wonder if I really ‘need’ it? 🙃

I’m looking for some advice regarding a commercial property dispute in Mohali. Please excuse any incorrect legal terminology.
The property is a multi-floor commercial showroom that was rented to three tenants. After the owner passed away and the property was inherited by the legal heirs, all three tenants stopped paying rent. The combined unpaid rent is now roughly 50 or so lakhs per year. Eviction proceedings were initiated around 10 years ago, but the cases have continued through the lower courts and various appeals/applications with no real resolution.
The tenants have repeatedly failed to appear at hearings, resulting in orders being passed, and then subsequently appeared and had the matters reopened/heard again. There have also been multiple applications/appeals to prolong the proceedings.
What concerns us further is our own advocate’s conduct. He has repeatedly encouraged us to settle outside court and told us on several occasions that the opposing party had approached him about finding a middle ground.
On one occasion, we unexpectedly walked into his chambers for a court date and found the opposing party sitting there. We had not agreed to any settlement meeting. The advocate told us they were there to try to find a middle ground. At the following hearing, I explicitly told him that we did not want any further settlement discussions outside court.
Our advocate also never advised us to pursue rent-recovery proceedings when the opportunity apparently existed. We are now looking at roughly 10 years of litigation and a very substantial amount of unpaid rent.
This has understandably made us suspicious and raised a difficult question: is it legally possible for an advocate to secretly accept money from the opposing party and deliberately delay or weaken their own client’s case? For example, could someone theoretically pay the advocate a few lakhs a year to keep the matter dragging on when the opposing party is financially benefiting from the delay?
I am not alleging that this has happened —we have no proof of that. I want to understand what would constitute evidence of such conduct and whether it could amount to professional misconduct or a criminal offence.
More importantly, what would be the best way forward at this stage?
Should we:
Get the entire file reviewed by an independent, reputable civil/property lawyer and potentially change advocates?
Ask a new lawyer to examine the complete court history and determine why the cases have taken 10 years?
Explore approaching the Punjab & Haryana High Court for directions regarding the prolonged proceedings?
Pursue rent-recovery proceedings now, if still legally possible?
I’m particularly interested in advice from lawyers or anyone familiar with civil/property litigation in Mohali/ Chandigarh. Would getting an independent lawyer to conduct a complete review of the case files be the sensible first step?
Thanks in advance.
I like the layout and the furniture but it just feels bland. Looking for helpful non bjp themed suggestions 😅
Context: I want to make a complaint regarding an NRI to the Canadian tax agency (CRA), for not disclosing his income he earns in India from his rental properties which is in the ballpark of 40-50 lakh per year. Lets just say I have a personal vendetta against this person. I know banks will not just hand this info to me so what I’m really asking is can I bribe a bank employee to give me bank statements for the last 5-10 years for this person? Has anyone has experience with a similar situation.
I’m a premium client with them and initiated a transfer from my Pension to a LIRA with Wealthsimple. It just got completed today. I totally forgot to register for the 1% match promotion. Is there anyway to request them to consider a 1% match? The amount is over 25k.
Hello NRI’s
I am looking for opinions and advice from people who have been through something similar. I believe my situation is not unique at all.
Inherited Agricultural Land in Punjab, checked that its outside of the municipal limits so there is not going to be any Capital Gains tax. I have asked people around and they say that selling this land would get me a 70-30% mix of Black money and White money. What do people do with the Black money? I do not want to reinvest the proceeds in real estate in India. I know of channels to take this money abroad to North America but once you get it there, what do people do with it? Can you accept money into your bank accounts or do you get cash from people who transfer your money abroad? Can you invest that into your brokerage accounts?
Sorry if I sound ignorant. I have never dealt with something similar before. Really wish I could get a buyer who would offer 100% white deal.
Edit to add that the total amount is going to be around 1 million USD.
I’m looking for driving school recommendations for my mom. She’s 60. She has had this lifelong dream to learn how to drive and I believe its never too late. I learnt how to drive in 2008 from a Maruti Suzuki affiliated driving school in Aggar Nagar and I think it no longer exists. They had a simulator back then, maybe they also provided a rules book that I feel was very useful before stepping into a real car. Where do people go these days to learn how to drive in a comprehensive fashion?
