Tip for students in dorms w/o AC

After ~8 pm when the outside air gets below 75 and dropping, open your window and put a fan against it so its sucking in outside air. Also open your door if you can until you're room gets to a cool temp. I got my dorm down to 70 degrees by 11 pm doing this

Does anyone actually buy textbooks from The Bookie?

I was shopping for my textbooks for the upcoming semester, and I have to say, their prices are outrageous. For one of my courses, they're charging $173 for a USED textbook! They claim that this is the "Best Deal!" Mind you, if you want a new textbook that's gonna run you $231. A quick Google search led me to several HUNDREDS of this textbook in used condition for less than $50!

Exhibit B - For only $139, you can get an DIGITAL textbook. You'd think you'd get permanent access, right? Wrong. It expires after 130 days. This one I wasn't able to find a much better deal on, but for $100 you can get permanent access to it from another source.

Sorry if this was a bit of a rant, I just think it's crazy the publishers can charge college students this much for textbooks! I'm definitely gonna wait for the first week of class to make sure they're actually required before I'm a thousand bucks in the hole.

Question on the buses

I'll need to be going from Perham dorm down to the new Schweitzer Engineering Hall daily, which looks like a 15-20 minute walk. I was thinking about getting an electric scooter, but idk if it could handle the hills along that route (although I'm open ears to recommendations). Anyways, is there a bus route that goes around campus?

KSEA Mariner/Seahawk VFR Transition Route

Hello, I'm a private pilot and I want to fly the Mariner VFR transition route above Seattle-Tacoma International. This is going to be my first time in a bravo and first time flying a VFR transition route. I'm assuming I just request the transition route from the approach frequency and they'll tell me what to do. I was wondering if any fellow aviators on here happened to have flown this route or something similar in the past could tell me what to expect.

Pilot eligibility question

I recently had an incident with a box cutter, and the nerve on one of my fingertips got severed so I can't feel one side of my fingertip near the nail. I still have full range of motion and all. Can't afford to get it fixed so just stuck with it. I'm currently a private pilot, and I'm planning on joining the AirForce through the AFROTC route with the intentions of flying for them. Would this minor nerve damage affect my eligibility to fly for the AirForce.

Parking question

If a student were to bring their car to campus, and say didn't want to buy a parking pass, where might that student leave their vehicle for multiple days at a time without getting a ticket? Asking for a friend of course.

Perham Dorm

I got a double buyout in Perham, I was curious what current students thought of it. All the info i can find is from a couple years ago. Thanks!

Dorm Question

How hard is it to get a single dorm as a freshman if you did the housing application before priority deadline and are willing to pay for it? It's important to me to not have a roommate lol.
