Fear of going through this grief again

Long story short, I lost my sweet aussiedoodle Sammy in June to bone cancer. He was a big boy (75lbs for most of his adult life, but gained weight the last two yrs and was about 90-95, I tried to help him lose weight but not much helped, got back down to about 85 before he passed, but he'd had a leg amputated at that point). I know bone cancer is more prone to happen the bigger a dog is. Anyway, it's made me terrified of ever owning an aussiedoodle again even though I loved him and his little personality so so much. My cousin's friends had an aussiedoodle they were trying to rehome not long after my pup was gone and it was just too soon. But it's been two months now, and I'm just beginning to look at getting a pup again, and so we reached out to her just to make sure they found a home for that pup. We wanted to make sure she was okay and thought of taking her now that I'm more ready to get a pup again. Well, she's been rehomed but one of her babies needs a home. He's 3 months old and a f1b (Sammy was a f1, at least as far as we were told). He's precious and my heart went out to him as soon as I saw his little face, but then all of that fear came flooding back.

Is this a health issue that's common for aussiedoodles? I don't think I could go through that again, though, part of me also knows every dog will likely develop some kind of health issue at the end of their life and need to be let go at the appropriate time. Sammy was my soul pup and the first dog that was ever truly just mine, so losing him at any time was going to ruin me, but it just felt like Sammy's life was cut so short, he was only 9. And it is still very fresh on my mind and in my heart, I know that's part of it. I hear so many people say caring for another pup helps them heal from the loss of their other dog. I don't know if I should be worried to own another of the same breed, if this fear is valid at all, or if everything's so fresh that I'm going to worry about any breed of dog I could bring home.

Lost fic, help

There's a fic that I just can't find, and all I remember is a quote/scene from it. Something about Buck asking Tommy how he's so hot and what's stuck in my mind is Tommy responding with something like "I sold my soul to/made a deal with a witch/demon? (idk the exact phrase, except for the next part:) so now I only get hard for hot men"

Anyway, any help is much appreciated. I think it was on ao3 but honestly I read fic on tumblr too sometimes so.. who knows.

are the Autosoft XCs back?

Just got off the phone with Edgepark and they said the XC 23in 9mm are back? They processed the order for today but I have a trip week after next and I'm a little nervous that it's going to come up that these are backordered again and not come in time for my vacation.

has anyone actually received XCs lately?? are they back? they've been telling me they're unavailable since the beginning of 2026 and this was the first time they were offered to me again.

...tbh I might call back and also order a box of the 90s just in case, I'll use them even if the XCs do ship, I don't mind the 90s as much as most people seem to and I'd be more comfy having back ups that I haven't had issues with shipping right away

and yes, I did wait too long to order new supplies and I'm down to only a few sites, but I intended to call last week to order and I broke my toe on Tuesday and then on Friday I had to say goodbye to my dog (his battle with cancer got to be too much for him).. so I basically got nothing done besides existing.

I can’t drink coffee while on my period

Been curious about this for a while and none of the other women in my life seem to share this issue, so I thought I’d take to Reddit and see if anyone else has experienced this or can explain why this is a thing for me…

So… as the title says, I simply cannot drink coffee while on my period. When I do, it makes my cramps significantly worse for the day, to the point where I usually end up in bed the rest of the day. I’ve had many people say it’s the caffeine but I can drink literally anything else with caffeine in it while on my period and I’m fine. Alani. Coke Zero (I’m type 1 diabetic so I only drink diet/zero). Tea. Anything else with caffeine and I’m fine. I’ve even tried decaf coffee (which yes does still have *some* caffeine in it) and even that makes my cramps worse. It seems to be specific to coffee and I’ve never met anyone else who’s had this response to coffee on their period without having other caffeinated drinks bother them too.

Idk. If the mystery remains unsolved I’ll live. I just skip coffee and switch to Alani or Mnt Dew kickstarts for my caffeine needs during that week. It’s not the end of the world. But just thought I’d put the question out there and see if anyone else has experienced this or if a dr or dietitian could maybe explain it to me.

Thanks
