Does swimming actually help with weight loss, or is diet still the biggest factor ?

I have been thinking about adding swimming to my schedule for weight loss. This weekend, it boosted me along with diet, reduced my weight significantly for just 40 mins of swimming. Is this better than exercise? If so, what is the suggestion regarding it in my weight-loss journey? For those who have used swimming as part of their weight loss journey, has anyone noticed some consistent results? I would love to hear. Please share your real-life experiences with swimming, along with your diet, or just swimming to lose weight, that made you feel better. What are the other factors that boost weight loss? Feel free to add.

As per the European Commission statistics, one of the top 10 most litters which are the plastic bags. Despite they are being used for a few minutes, they take centuries to degrade.

The European Commission is taking steps to reduce the usage of Plastic Bags by two methods. What is the first investment you ever made ?

Everyone starts somewhere. Whether you started a single stock, an ETF, or an index fund, or even a mistake you learned from, I am curious to learn from you what decision you have made and why? Looking back, if you were to make a decision today, would you make the same decision, or would you do it differently? I am less interested in what money you have made, but more interested in what is the lesson you have learnt from that decision. In my opinion, learning a variety of investment stories would help beginners to understand and gather the lessons learnt to make wiser decisions.

Relationship between food intake and weight

The idea of food intake and weight are much related as per my experience. The fewer calories you consume, the more you can see weight loss in a consistent way. My suggestion is not to overdo.

I feel I don't have a brother or sister

When I met my friend, I was envious that my friend could share every other details or things with their siblings. And that made me feel that even after many years now, I am feeling that I don't have a brother or a sister. If there were one, I could have shared my feelings or gotten some advice. Being one of the single without any siblings is feeling alone. Is there an idea or suggestion anyone wants to share that I can keep thought away and keep engaged? What are the options that we can explore to compensate for this?

France slams Burkina Faso's "hostile" decision to sever diplomatic relations

Diplomatic relations between France and Burkina Faso have collapsed after the West African nation's military junta officially severed all ties. The French Foreign Ministry strongly denounced the move on Friday, labeling the decision "hostile and baseless." Tensions have steadily escalated since Burkina Faso's 2022 military coup, as the ruling junta has systematically distanced itself from traditional European allies while rapidly building closer security ties with Russia. While French officials stated they are actively considering reciprocal measures, international analysts warn the diplomatic fracture will deeply impact regional security operations and ongoing humanitarian aid distribution across the volatile Sahel region.

Nobody told me about eating back exercise calories. Is it a real thing?

Is eating back exercise calories a thing people actually do? I burned around 300 calories at the gym today and I'm not sure if I should eat them back or let it add to my deficit. What do you all do?

The mistake every new investor makes in their first week

Just started investing and learned this the hard way — don't buy individual stocks before understanding what the company actually does. Read their business model first. Knowing why you own a stock helps you hold through dips instead of panic selling.

The Small Relationship Habit That Changed Everything

People often think strong relationships are built through grand gestures, but in my experience it's the small, consistent things that matter most. A quick message asking how someone's day went, remembering something they mentioned weeks ago, or taking a few minutes to really listen can make a huge difference over time. Trust isn't built in a single conversation—it's built through repeated moments where people feel heard and valued. I've also noticed that many conflicts come from assumptions rather than actual problems. Simply asking for clarification instead of jumping to conclusions can prevent unnecessary misunderstandings. What's one small habit you've noticed that has strengthened an important relationship in your life, whether it's with a partner, friend, family member, or coworker?

I need parenting advice

My daughter is 3.5 years old, and I am looking for some good advice, as she is so adamant nowadays. Almost all kids in my community of the same age behave the same way. Is this due to the community or common across this age? How to overcome it?

Getting Up Is the Whole Game

"Fall seven times, stand up eight." — Japanese Proverb

Simple words. Profound truth.

Life will knock you down — that's not a possibility, it's a guarantee. You'll lose the job, miss the opportunity, fail the exam, end the relationship. The fall is never the problem. The problem is convincing yourself the floor is where you belong.

Resilience isn't about being unbreakable. It's about being bendable — absorbing the hit, catching your breath, and choosing to rise one more time than you've fallen.

Nobody remembers how many times someone got knocked down. They remember the person who refused to stay there.

Get back up. Always.
