Non-stick pan durability: Why do we care?

I see tons of adds on social media for non-stick pan "alternatives". These adds tend to argue that non-stick pans aren't durable and wear out after a year or so. That tends to be an argument I hear frequently on reddit and places too.

I don't mean to sound like a rich bourgeois a-hole but......Non stick pans are dirt cheap. Like $20 or $30. Why do you even care if they wear out after *checks notes* a year like people say?

An extremely well reviewed non-stick pan is $30 on Amazon. If that pan keeps your family from eating-out one meal a year, it basically pays for itself. If you're single and that easy-to-clean pan keeps you from DoorDashing yourself one or two meals, it's paid for itself.

And what really gets me is that these non-stick ceramic alternatives tend to be way more expensive. I'd be cheaper to just buy a new $30 non-stick every year.

I remember Adam saying he buys the cheap non-stick, because the expensive ones don't last either. Other than environmental considerations, I don't see why buying a new $30 pan every year is that bad a deal. Especially if keeps you from buying some $150 fancy-pants ceramic influencer pan.

Really, non-stick pans are an awesome deal. The people who say otherwise are usually trying to sell you something far more expensive.

Leased a new 2026 Mazda3 Carbon AWD (naturally aspirated) sedan. Thinking of switching to all-weather tires....

Hi - so I leased a new one. However, I live in Wisconsin (Madison-area) and am thinking of swapping out the stock Bridgestones for all-weather tires. (The dealer said I could if I wanted to.)

My "old" car (though I still have it) is a 2002 BMW E46 325i wagon. Putting on Michelin CrossClimate 2's made it SOOO much easier to drive in the winter time. But it was a RWD drive, and this is a front-biased AWD car.

Going on the Discount Tire website, it looks like my all-weather options (in the stock 215 size) are the Falken Aklimate and the Goodyear Weather Assurance 2. I'm curious if anyone has switched to them. Or if I moved up to 225s I think other all-weather tires (like my CC2s) become available.

But then part of me feels ridiculous paying to change the tires on a 3 year lease....

Any thoughts?

Why I, as a customer, avoid Dominos during the $9.99 deal

It seems like my Dominos store compensates for the 'any pizza' gig by simply giving less of each topping. Like they're desperately trying not to run out of toppings.

I've had this happen even with 1 or 2 topping pizzas I've ordered under the deal. There is less topping than when the deal isn't going on.

So it doesn't feel like much of a deal to me, especially compared to their existing year round carry-out deals. And when I order the existing carry-out deal, and the $9.99 deal isn't going on, I get the appropriate amount of each topping.

So I end up avoiding Dominos while this deal is going on.

Anyone using 7.2 mg with the manufacture coupon?

I've been on 2.4 mg for several months, using the $349 coupon in the US (insurance doesn't cover it). I'm seeing my doctor on Tuesday and thinking of asking him about Wegovy HD.

My questions is will my old 2.4 mg coupon info still work on the 7.2 mg dose, or do I need to get a new one from Novo to give to the pharmacy? (Yes I know it's $399 and not $349 for the HD dose.)
