Warning: Booking Royal Caribbean through Delta Cruises nearly cost me $250 and wasted 2.5 hours

I booked two Royal Caribbean cabins through Delta Cruises in the middle of the week—two people in one room and three in the other—and called on Sunday after discovering that Delta Cruises had placed them under different group IDs. Because of this, the Royal Caribbean app would not let us book dining or excursions together. Delta Cruises repeatedly blamed Royal Caribbean’s software, processes, and inflexibility. Their only proposed solution was to debook and rebook, which would have cost me $250, even though the reservations were only a few days old and I did not cause the problem. The first two Delta Cruises representatives were also borderline rude and dismissive. Every Royal Caribbean representative, however, was kind, respectful, and determined to help. One stayed on hold with me for more than 20 minutes, joined a merged call, and stayed with me even after Delta Cruises transferred and disconnected us. Even with Royal Caribbean on the line, Delta Cruises initially refused to make the change. The Royal Caribbean representative eventually asked Delta Cruises for permission to correct the reservations and then made the change on our behalf.

Royal Caribbean saved me from losing $250, but I still lost two and a half hours fixing this mess. I cannot say enough good things about Royal Caribbean’s service, but I cannot recommend booking through Delta Cruises. If you do not want to risk losing your money and time, do not book this way. It was easily the worst cruise-booking experience I have ever had.

Dealer observed CX-90 washers barely working at highway speed but says they’re “within Mazda parameters”

I have a 2026 Mazda CX-90 Premium Plus and have been working with my Mazda dealer on two separate issues.

The first was intermittent iPhone/Apple CarPlay connectivity and charging problems. The dealer installed a software update, and that issue now appears to be fixed.

The remaining issue is the windshield-washer system. At highway speeds, very little washer fluid effectively reaches and wets the windshield before the wipers sweep. The blades end up wiping across a mostly dry windshield, and the system is barely effective at actually cleaning anything.

For example, if a bug hits the windshield, activating the washers and wipers does not remove it—the mess simply remains on the glass. The same would be true for mud, road spray, bird droppings, or anything else that needs enough fluid to loosen and remove it. My concern is what happens when something suddenly obstructs my view while driving at highway speed.

This is not based only on testing the vehicle while parked. The dealership’s head technician rode with me on the highway, personally observed the problem, and acknowledged that it could present a safety risk. However, I was ultimately told that the system was operating within normal Mazda parameters or “according to specification.”

That answer is difficult to accept. A windshield-washer system that cannot effectively clean the windshield at highway speed does not seem fit for its basic purpose, regardless of whether the components technically fall within Mazda’s stated parameters.

Has anyone else experienced this with a CX-90?

  • Did adjusting or replacing the washer nozzles help?
  • Could this involve insufficient pump pressure, a restricted line, or a faulty check valve?
  • Has another Mazda dealer compared the washer performance with a different CX-90?
  • Is there a Mazda technical-service bulletin or updated part addressing this?
  • Has anyone successfully escalated a similar issue to Mazda Customer Experience or filed a safety complaint?

I’m considering asking the dealer to perform a side-by-side highway comparison with another CX-90 and document the results. I would appreciate any other suggestions, especially from owners who have had the same problem corrected.

EDIT: The wiper fluid is released at the very top of the wiper arc so most fluid ends up on the roof of car and not usable by the drivers side windshield wiper.

Five bad boxes in a row—latest box was mostly missing or random items

Over my last five Marley Spoon boxes, I’ve experienced repeated fulfillment problems and received almost no meaningful help from customer support. Earlier problems resulted in credits, so I’ve mainly continued ordering because I’m trying to use those credits rather than lose them.

My latest order contained four meals plus Marketplace items. The box was missing:

  • The ribs I ordered
  • Ingredients for the prosciutto-and-pasta dish
  • The proteins for both fish dishes
  • The protein for the chicken dish

Essentially, I received no more than one correct item for each recipe, so I couldn’t make any of the four meals. The box also contained an assortment of random items, including steak that I don’t believe I ordered. It honestly looks like parts of someone else’s order were put into my box.

Last Thursday, I contacted Marley Spoon by email, chat, through the app, and by phone. I have received no meaningful response through any channel, and my emails are no longer being answered.

After five problematic boxes, this is clearly more than an occasional packing mistake. Has anyone successfully received a refund to their original payment method for an order like this? I don’t want more credits that require me to place another order and risk receiving another unusable box.

Wing on lau

Does anyone remember Wing On Lau on Michigan Street in Grand Rapids?

I’ve been trying for years to recreate some of their dishes and haven’t found another Chinese restaurant that makes them the same way. I’m specifically looking for recipes, old menus, former employees, family members, or anyone with knowledge of how they made:
Almond Boneless Chicken (Almond Chicken)
Egg Rolls
Beef Fried Rice
Chicken Chop Suey
Chow Mein

I’ve searched online and come up empty. If anyone has recipes, menu photos, newspaper clippings, or even memories of the ingredients or cooking methods, I’d love to hear about them.
Thanks!
