Hey guys! So I’m in a bit of a predicament. We adopted 2 female guinea pigs in March… one of them was pregnant.
(We confirmed the other pig is also female so she didn’t get pregnant by her cage mate)
We now have 2 big females, 2 baby females… and this guy.
To be honest he is so chill and I love him. I want to keep him… but here are the problems I am facing.

1: I have 3 kids and a cat, so I keep all the pigs in my room where I can control the door being shut at all times.
My kids wouldn’t be as aware and I don’t expect them to be responsible for their safety.

2: I would have to separate him from all the females until he is spayed, which could be 6 months… and I don’t think it’s fair for him to be alone. Also putting a divider in the cage would limit space for everyone. I have a very very large cage. My husband is 6’2” 240lbs and can lay in there with them, so I’m not too worried about space but that’s still kind of an issue with territory and might cause fighting. Also he will be lonely and sad.

3: I have 5 guinea pigs now and I don’t know how it’s gonna be when they are full grown… if their space is going to feel crowded?

Does anyone have experience with keeping this many pigs in one room? Separating a male until they get neutered? Is this the best option for him?
Should I just re-home him? Should I keep him and get him neutered? I just want him to have a good life and I don’t know what the best choice is.

Im 12 lbs away from my original “goal” and I feel “eh” about it. I still feel fat and so far away from being comfortable in my body.

I’m 5’4” btw, struggle with PCOS and had 3 kids. So loose skin is a thing now for sure.

Good thing is, I can move around so much easier, and everything is so much more enjoyable now! But I still feel like I will always be fat or go up and down weight wise.

I can’t even get good pictures of the other 2 babies… but I’m thinking this may be a boy? Eh?
The other 2 babies just have hair covering their parts and nothing prominent at all.

The other female is being mean to the brand new babies, so I made a cage divider…. And she’s not happy about it. She’s biting at the divider and digging. I feel bad for her but??? She was being mean to the babies.

It’s a very large cage. 6ftx3ft also with 2x4 loft.
Separated pig is now in 3x3 because mom had her babies in the loft and I don’t want to unsettle them.
Was separating the right thing to do?

Cage mate was trying to take over the nest and kick babies out, strutting at them and snapping. She didn’t hurt them but it was worrying and she made one of them squeal so she may have nipped.
I made the divider to where the bonded girls can still see each other but not touch.

What are some good re-homing options for baby piggies? I just want to be prepared.

I want to choose someone who knows how to care for them and either already has piggies or will have a cage mate for them. I have really cared for Abadon during her pregnancy and I know I can’t keep all of her babies. I wish I could but at least I want them to go to someone who will adore them and take good care for them!

I adopted 2 piggies and this girl is pregnant (was pregnant when adopted) She is 8weeks and 3 days + so, in other words, any moment now they’re coming!

I convinced my husband that I can keep one of the female babies if she has a girl but I can’t keep more than one of the babies.

I have done my research and have a small scale to weigh them and separate males when the time comes. I wasn’t expecting to adopt a pregnant piggy so I wasn’t prepared at first lol
I built a larger enclosure mansion for them and can easily separate so I’m not worried about more pregnancies.

I adopted this baby Abadon and her sister Lady Gaga 8 weeks and 3 days ago and she was already pregnant (just didn’t know at the time lol)

She is staying pancaked, still eating just a little less talkative, grinding her teeth and making this cooing sound 💕 it is time? I hope so! I am so anxious but excited!

This is a custom cage I built yesterday and it took about 5.5 hrs.

Bottom tier - 3ft x 6ft

Top tier- 2ft x 4ft

Pros- they have SO much room and we have a parkour pig

Cons-takes up a huge part of our room, it’s also hard to clean and reach under the top tier

I need to do some minor touch ups (doing today)but it’s super sturdy and the pigs love it! I was too exhausted to do anymore tweaking on it last night!

My only problem is I had to switch dressers with my daughter and give her my vanity 😂 also my fiancé was like “babe I thought you were gonna make it taller not wider, this takes up 1/4 of the room” and honestly he’s not wrong… I just want them to have all the room for zoomies and stuff.

I didn’t plan on making a Goliath of a cage but here we are, and one of our pigs is pregnant so I wanted to give her more room because her sister was annoying her.

Also if she has males we can separate them easier while we are looking for good homes.

Would I be wrong to downsize it when we eventually re-home the babies that our piggy will be having soon? I want to at-least keep one of the females.

The flower was done by me in 2014 with a really shitty Amazon machine and the frog was done by myself recently (healed but still dry) with better equipment.

I tried mixing the colors and adding white to make them more of a pastel which obviously didn’t work so well. I should have just bought some vibrant ink.

The ink fell out of his left eye due to over working it 🫣

How would you rate the frog tho? 😂 I spent way too long on it and I was really just trying to get the hang of things on skin. … which led to ink falling out.

I was also not very confident with lines. I love color and shading tho.

Lady Gaga (parkour sister) is annoying her pregnant sister. She is going to give birth any day now!

The bickering has gotten to be a problem, and I found some of Gaga’s hair in the cage while cleaning.

They need a bigger space, so I will be ordering more coroplast sheet and C&c. Their cage is 2x4 grid right now, plus the loft area (1x2).

I may even look into the premade coroplast and C&c and just combine them? And give my vanity to my daughter so I can fit it in here.

Abadon ended up going upstairs, Gaga downstairs and it’s good for now.

I ended up separating them for a little bit yesterday but they started wheeking for each other and I put them back together.

What do I do? (While I’m waiting for more C&c and cage stuff to come)

Also I don’t want to stress Abadon out by giving her a new place when she’s about to give birth?
