Why Zero Might Be the Best Solo Queue Operator
Zero is probably one of the best solo queue operators right now—not to mention he’s just insanely strong overall. He’s a “do-it-all” kind of attacker who can fit into almost any team composition thanks to his versatile kit.
He brings:
One of the best guns in the game
Built-in utility clear
Hard breach capability
Insane intel gathering
Let’s start with the obvious.
The SC3000K with extended barrel is arguably the best gun in the game:
25-round mag
Manageable recoil
50 damage per shot at 800 RPM
This means:
2 shots to down light operators (body shots)
3 shots for basically everyone else—even with Rook armor
Even hitting limbs (like toes on 2-speed ops) still kills in 3 shots
And even wallbangs, it hurts when you get grazed by that gun through soft walls
This is where Zero really becomes insane.
If you learn just 2–3 cam spots per map, you can get ridiculous value. You have 6 cameras total, and they’re not just for intel—they’re also utility clear tools.
What makes them so strong:
Can pierce soft AND reinforced surfaces
Can destroy:
Bandit/Kaid electricity
Mute jammers
Goyo canisters
denari, fenrir, capkan and so much more
You can also use them mid-push, like a drone:
Shoot a cam into the ceiling
Quickly check it
Instantly know what angles defenders are holding
Sometimes defenders don’t even notice the cam during fights. Meanwhile, your dead teammates can:
Watch your cams
Call out positions
Also, leaving at least one cam for flank watch is huge.
I’ve gotten so many free kills just from catching flankers on cams.
Even in solo queue, just asking dead teammates to watch cams can save your life.
This is what makes Zero completely self-sufficient.
There are countless situations where you can:
Go solo on the other side of the map
Clear electricity yourself (using Argus cams)
Open reinforced walls
Create pressure or get free kills
Example – Border (Armory):
Take Office control solo
Clear the electrified wall on the east side (near window)
Open it with hard breach, while using the other to breach into the office itself
Now you have a long angle from outside all the way into Armory
While your team pushes main breach, you:
Get free picks
Force defenders to split attention
Example – Oregon (Big Tower):
People usually rely on Maverick (and even ban him)
But with Zero, you can:
Clear electricity from Meeting below
Set up cams into site (from Kitchen, etc.)
Get crucial intel and pressure without needing a teammate
