Why do all the players want to leave?
I thought we were in a good and exciting place. What’s gone wrong?

Living in Birmingham and went to the athletics this week. I think the Irish fans might have outnumbered the locals it was absolutely fabulous.
Did anyone here go? How was your experience?
Or did Birmingham organise it?
We all know Ireland is superior…. But was anything actually better over there besides faster delivery for online shopping?
Food scene here used to be quality but it feels like it’s losing its magic. Places like Purnells, Harborne Kitchen and Simpson’s closed, and other exciting places like Caneat and Tierra. In contrast, the food scene in cities in Manchester and Bristol seems to be totally thriving. What has changed?
Also seems like we’re just getting loads of London chains like Blacklock and Flat Iron.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my friends and family, and I am happy for them…but is anyone else just over weddings in their current state? They’re so bleeding expensive as a guest, and also for the couples wedding married.
Abroad weddings cost an absolute bomb as a guest. Even when they’re in the UK they’re often in the middle of nowhere requiring a couple of nights in a hotel + taxis which often totals over £200 a head. Plus the cost of getting there and a new outfit that has to be in a particular, as often restrictive, dress code. Everything feels like it’s just for TikTok and Instagram. Same trends, same speeches, same staged group shots. What happened to little local weddings, ceremony in the local church and then reception in a small local hotel? £100 expectation for a gift after spending over £500 already, multiple times a year is a big ask.
Don’t get me started on stags and hen dos. All abroad, all expensive, multiple for one person. It is just too much! When I’ve said I can’t go because I can’t afford £500+ I get told I’m a bad friend?!
* Not American. Sorry I didn’t know gotten wasn’t correct.
I just didn’t see him as a money grabber, it feels so disappointing man I thought he was a good guy.
Can be anything, fun or serious
Moseley, the Jewellery Quarter and Stirchley were all the trendy parts of the city in the last 10 years or so. Where do you think will be the next up and combing neighbourhood and why?
Seems quite a lot of the players will be quite worse for wear. Do we think this impacts who plays?
Got a 19th century cottage that’s prone to a bit of rising damp. Have worked with a company to do things like lowering ground levels, reinstating air bricks etc but there’s still a bit of damp around party walls.
Clearly not a plasterer myself so want to know whether any types of plasterboard (or similar) would be suitable here before agreeing to anything with a contractor. I understand I need lime plaster.
