Bird Route
My route today looked like a bird. After closer inspection it resembles the Zimbabwe Birds.

My initial response to the Polestar survey is, “Here are my ACH account details, please send reimbursement payments. Thanks.”
On my third P2 and pretty dialed into its quirks, but I cannot get Gemini to load. At delivery it appeared normally, but I had to wipe the car and start fresh because the weak cell signal in the Space garage caused instability with apps and the Play store. The image shows Gemini is on the car, but I can’t get anything to trigger the upgrade. When I tap Open it loads the regular assistant.
Wasn’t planning on a full bucket wash this morning, but the weather basically scheduled it for me. A Blade Runner‑looking cloud from a nearby wildfire rolled in last night, swallowed the blue sky, and left a film of ash behind.
A 2024 P2 with 59 miles, Pilot, Plus. I asked it was a marketing car Polestar Portland got a hold of.
Lost in the short history of the Polestar 2 is how the fastback hatch was actually designed to fit a road or gravel bike with the front wheel still on. Early marketing even mentioned that former CEO Thomas Ingenlath was a cyclist, and honestly, that detail sold me on the car.
A full‑size bike slides straight in and out. Two bikes fit fine with front wheels off and a moving blanket between them. Fatbike? Wheel off. 29er MTB? Wheel off. It all works.
It’s one of those underrated features that never gets talked about but makes the P2 way more useful than people expect.
(I live in the North Cascades and drive on dirt roads. My P2 is always dirty but thanks in advance for noticing.)
Loaded bikes, clear skies, and good company at Banker Pass in the Methow Valley.
Polestar’s U.S. exit is already hitting owners — shrinking service options, confused dealers, and a lot of unanswered questions. I told The Verge that many of us are basically left holding the bag while the brand figures out what comes next.

I already turned in my lease early and bought a CPO, and then this letter from Polestar Financial Services showed up. They sent it because no one was — or is — coming out to inspect my car. I live in rural Washington.
If your lease is ending soon or later this fall, you don’t need an inspection. It’s not required. You don’t have to wait for them to schedule one, and don’t bother trying to arrange it.
Just follow the instructions in the letter they send or find on their site. For my turn‑ins, I’ve asked the space to handle small cosmetic stuff — this time a paint chip, and on my previous lease they had their wheel guy fix curb rash, which I paid for. I haven't been charge excess wear and tear for both leases.
Good luck!
This was at Safeway. The Home Depot lot was even larger, so I parked even farther away and concealed it behind pallets of fertilizer. The newness will wear off but for now I’m taking care of my new car.
Bubbling up a comment I left on another post today.
Marin (before it closes next week) and Portland have both been willing to ground your lease and then sell the car back to you at market value once Polestar Financial Services releases it. The process takes a few days.
I almost went that route in Portland, but found a CPO Polestar 2 with half the miles of my leased car and a leather interior, so I went with that instead.
I don't have a list of all the Spaces that will do this, but it's absolutely worth asking if you want to keep your current leased car without paying the inflated residual value in your lease contract. Based on what I've learned, some Spaces are willing to work with customers on this.
Good luck!
If the Polestar import‑ban news felt rough, the Marin space shuts down on Monday. That leaves a gaping hole in what had been one of their most established markets.
New car is just like the old car with an upgrade: Nappa leather. I turned in my leased 24 P2, LRDM, Pilot, Plus and bought this CPO from the Portland Space yesterday. The leather is a bonus. Neither of my previous P2s were spec’d with it. The new one has low miles too.
Like the title says — went to swap my winter tires off and one of the foam inserts was completely chewed up.
