On a roll with the Perch recently
4th 2lb+ Perch this week, which is a once in a blue moon occurrence for me. Biggest going 2lb 6oz which is only 2oz off a PB, hopefully I can continue the streak going later in the season and maybe get that 3lber 🤞

Had my first GALS about a month, so far so good and I wanted to see how it went with one before committing to any more, but I couldn’t resist getting another. I know they aren’t social animals but I felt like he needed a friend. We’re only a few hours in but it seems to have made a massive difference to my other one’s activity and as you can see they get along really well.
Will be looking at getting a bigger enclosure in the coming weeks since they’re only small at the moment. I think 2 is the right amount for me so I’ll try not to convince myself to get more later 😅
Just a few of the fish I’ve had from an abandoned pond a few minutes away from my house, it was formed by a drain from an old train line before it became a walking/cycle trail. In the summer you can easily catch 100+ fish in couple of hours
Hi all, posted a couple of days ago about buying my first GALS, so far so good and it’s actually growing at a noticeable rate within 5 days of owning as you can see from the head end of the shell and its colouration from the 1st and 2nd photo. I believe it’s a Lissachatina Fulica and I’m looking at getting it a friend at some point in the future once I get a more appropriate sized enclosure set up since I’ve read they do like to be with others, but I want to make sure I’m buying the same breed since the place I got this one from isn’t the most local so I’d be looking at other places nearer to me. TIA
Hi all, picked up our first Giant African Land Snail on Saturday, and so far everything seems great. They’re active and rasping on the cuttlebone a lot, still figuring out preferred foods but Bell Pepper seems to be a hot favourite so far…
I just wanted to ask what things in particular both good/bad I should be looking out for currently, I know that activity and a willingness to come out is a good sign which they’re definitely showing that, but I’m somewhat concerned about the amount of cuttlebone they’re consuming because it’s way more than I first imagined, I know they self regulate but is there such a thing as too much? I imagined a small bone lasting a month or two but at the current rate I’d be amazed if it lasted a week!
I’d like to think I’m well set up so far but any extra tips would be much appreciated. (An extra question would be what exact variety of GALS this one is, I’m sure it’s a Lissachatina Fulica but I want to be 100% sure)
