Been a hot minute since I posted my BRZ tS here. Can’t believe it’s been 2 years. Added a few things this summer already with a possible “big” plan for Subiefest Midwest.

Added a couple STI parts this year (flexible v bars and the side skirt extensions to complete the lip kit) but the most important addition being the Xforce Varex 3.0 inch valves catback.

Been taking the car out a bit more to car events/shows/meets the last 2 months, which has hatched a possible ambitious plan to enter her in my first ever car show as a participant at Subiefest Midwest in October. Have a couple more cosmetics I’d like to try getting, but the challenging part is cleaning up/refinishing and painting a set of wheels my cousin is lending me until I get my own, potentially next year.

I forget that the love for these cars extend further than my own ownership or the WRX community as a whole…

The other day my 2016 WRX turned 11 but I had no joy to “celebrate.” After severe storms ravaged the Chicagoland areas a week ago, it left plenty of dimples thanks to some hail. Cleaning up the car today to see the true extent of the damage left me feeling a bit down. Until tonight when taking a quick run to the store and having a young gent compliment the car and asked me to rev it, which I obliged. That little interaction lifted my spirits when I could also give him the advice to keep dreaming and never give up because you never know what can happen when he said he was working/saving up in the hopes one day he could get a WRX too.

Any Xforce Varex valved exhaust users route the cabling from the glove box to the rear differently? Most installs I’ve watched went through the grommet in the trunk where a spare tire would go.

Fingers crossed I get to install mine this weekend. Looking back at some installs and in the one Kevin Vo did, he mentions a potential route by the tail light, but couldn’t because he had other wiring.

Has anyone with the Xforce Varex valved exhaust been able to hear the 2.5 in. and 3 in. versions in person together?

Have had my BRZ since Aug. 2024 but have been researching exhausts even prior to that and originally wanted the AWE Touring or Magnaflow Neo. To still be somewhat courteous to everyone around me, even though it’s not my daily, I’ve been leaning more towards the Xforce Varex exhaust because of the valve to have the best of both worlds.

Curious to see if anyone has heard the 2.5 and 3 inch versions back to back and if there is any tonal difference between the two? From what I’ve seen, most say to go with the 3 in. if you plan on forced induction, which I don’t plan on so the 2.5 inch system would be fine in my use case.
