Baby’s first purpose driven riso print

This is my first solo project post riso class. I wanted to stick to black just to build confidence and now I’m feeling pretty ok! i even bought a cold roll laminator so i can make stickers. Where I live we’re fighting to keep our libraries alive, hopefully spreading these around helps increase visibilty 🤞

Bookstores with cheap collage material?

I’m wondering if there are any bookstores in town that have cheap old books/magazines. Down in Oly there’s a place (Orca Books) which has a $1 book cart out front and often there are some collage gems in there; old nature books, “microwave cooking for one”, etc. Does anyone know if anything similar exists around Seattle?

edited to add: thanks so much everyone for the amazing suggestions! i’ve got a long list to explore in the search for cool/weird/silly collage materials ❤️

Regarding Oly Farmers Market drama

The incisive reporting on the seemingly hostile takeover of the Board and subsequent termination of the by all accounts excellent Director left out (i imagine intentionally) the actual Board members. So everyone can do their own investigating, those voting members are:

Care about your library? Here’s how to help!

By now you’ve likely heard about the $4 million dollar budget hole that the Timberland Regional Library system was pushed into by an at best negligent admin team and asleep at the wheel Board of Trustees. I’ve heard from so many people how much they care about our libraries, how much they mean, but what we need now is ACTION more than anything else. What does that look like?

  1. Email AND CALL your County Commissioners and the TRL Board of Trustees letting them know how ashamed you are of their utter pack of accountability. The Commissioners are just as responsible as the Board members they appointed who have rubber stamped years of massive pay raises for the executive team and, like the board, don’t seem to care much about what WE think. 1. Sign the petition! https://www.mobilize.us/patroncoalitionforlocallibraries/event/921807/

  2. Join the Patron Coalition for Local Libraries for updates! Linktr.ee/PatronCoalition (links are being weird sorry)

There is a devoted group of community members across five counties fighting to save our libraries but we can’t do it alone. We need you to speak up, get loud, and demand that every single one of the people who drove our libraries into the ground be held accountable. We will win, but it’s going to take all of us ❤️

Today Constance was sitting by the front door chirping for attention. I must’ve done something so good in a past life 🙏.

I recently moved into a new home and now have a 2 car garage that is 25% cardboard boxes/shipping detritus. Recycling is picked up once every 2 weeks so at this rate i should have my garage back some time next century.

It would be so nice to have a garage empty of box and plastic. I’ve used 1800 Junk Removal before and they’re great but I’m not trying to pay 400$ for this. Is there anyone local who would like magically disappear this mess for Some Amount Of Money? Picture related.
