Bertie moved in four years ago today

His elderly owner, who had rescued him from a pretty bad situation, had fallen and we were only supposed to have him for a week whilst she recovered in hospital.

A week later she was told she wasn't allowed to keep him and she rang up in tears asking if we would keep him permanently. She was so scared that if we said no he would go somewhere where he could be mistreated again. The truth is that after the first day we couldn't imagine him not being with us.
