looking into investing

Cold world just looking for an insight. Good morning everyone 👋🏽
I’m completely new to investing, so excuse my lack of knowledge. I’m a cable technician living in NYC, so you already know how expensive life can get lol. I’m 43 with a family and I’m finally trying to be smarter with my money and think long term instead of just paycheck to paycheck.
My plan is to invest about $150 from every check consistently into the stock market and let it grow over time. I’m not looking to get rich overnight — I understand this is a long game. My goal is just to hopefully reach an age where my family and I can live comfortably and I’m not stressing financially forever.
Someone mentioned starting with ETFs like:
VOO
QQQ
VTV
VTI
From the little research I’ve done, they seem solid for long-term investing, but I wanted to ask people with more experience:
Are these good beginner investments for someone focused on long-term growth?
Would you start with one ETF or split between a few?
Any advice you wish you knew when you first started investing?
I know I still need to do my own research, but I’d really appreciate any guidance or tips from people who’ve been doing this longer than me.

Want to buy a odyssey

Times is hard Looking to purchase a Honda Odyssey as our family vehicle. Coming from a 2016 Chevy Traverse and honestly just need something more reliable long term for my wife and kids. Budget is tight right now, so I’m trying to sell the Traverse and add some extra cash toward an Odyssey.

For those who own or worked on them, what are the best years to look for in terms of:

- Reliability
- Longevity (200k+)
- DIY-friendly repairs
- Least problematic transmission/engine years
- Best value for the money

Also, which years should I avoid?

I do a lot of my own maintenance and repairs on my traverse when possible, so I’d rather get something that’s easier to work on and won’t destroy my wallet every few months 😂

I live in NYC too, so rust and rough roads are definitely factors.

Would really appreciate real owner experiences, mechanic advice, common problems, maintenance costs, or anything else I should know before buying. Thanks 🙏
