There’s A Lot To Like About Lowell

Ahhh The good ole 90’s. I think there was even a jingle for it. If you don’t know the slogan do you really know Lowell?

I’m An Addict With 103 Days Sober & I Have a Brain Aneurysm

I am 103 days clean & currently I’m in rehab & have been here since July. Last week I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. Silver lining is that I was in rehab with a medical team on site. If I was in active addiction I would never have gone to the ER or if I did it would have been too late. It’s strange, now I’m dealing with 2 huge issues. I have to say as far as relapse goes I literally can’t go back to substances, which is making me feel calm about all of this. The plan is for me to go to Boston when I’m clear to fly. Anyway I have all the reason to believe I’ll stay sober.

I’m an Addict in Recovery And I Have a Brain Aneurysm

I’m 101 days sober & I’ve been in a treatment center that deals with addiction & trauma for a few months. I was recently diagnosed with a brain aneurysm after a visit to the ER. In the days that followed I had to undergo a lot of tests & I was offered sedation meds, anti-anxiety meds & pain management. Xanax, Ativan & fentanyl to name a few. I wanted so desperately to accept these medications because I know how much I love the feeling & figured that this was the perfect excuse. I mean I have a brain aneurysm so everyone will understand. I ended up choosing not to accept these medications. I was so proud at the end of my hospital stay. It was an example of I never have to use again. No matter what

Diagnosed Today with Brain Aneurysm

I came to the ER this morning after some concerning falls in the last week. Both times I lost my balance causing a fall but I couldn’t stand up. Even with help my legs were totally useless. When I came in today I didn’t envision I’d be here 12 hours later but here I sit. The diagnosis as of tonight is brain aneurysm on the back of my head near the vertebrae. They admitted me & have had a few more tests. I have health anxiety over the results of the MRIs in the morning & further the treatment plan

98 Days Sober-I’m in Rehab

Today is a strange day. I’ve been having falls over the past week and a half. So the medical team shipped me over here to the ER. If I wasn’t here I’d be with everybody else at AN meeting we go to every Wednesday. So here I sit hoping the reason is due to my meds.

97 Days Sober-I’m in Rehab

Action packed day today at the rehab. Group therapy in the morning & again at night. Individual therapy & a visit to the rehab doctor. I hope they decrease my med intake, I’m on a whole lot. Oh and I’m going to try & squeeze in a nap.

Gabapentin & Dry Mouth

I currently take a high dosage of gabapentin. I’m in a rehab so it’s part of my daily meds. I’ve been trying to narrow it down to see which med is causing dry mouth. Pretty sure it’s gabapentin. Anyone else? Driving me nuts.

95 Days Sober-I’m in Rehab Now

Sunday is a slow day here at the rehab. In the morning you can choose to go to church. In the afternoon you can choose to go to the planned activity, today it was to go to The Everglades & look at alligators. Hard pass on that. In the evening it’s an outdoor NA meeting. I chose to stay in & watch football all day. Back to the full schedule at 8:30 tomorrow morning starting with group therapy.

94 Days Sober. I’m in Rehab Now

I’m in a treatment center that focuses on addiction & trauma. I went to detox for 2 weeks of pure hell, came here. I feel like I’m getting excellent care. In addition to group therapy, meetings & regular therapy, they also do RRT therapy(which for me is hypnosis) & EMDR(Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing). If anyone has any questions I’m happy to share my experience. I’m going to start posting my days. Help keep myself accountable,
