Question about Network Settings; transitioning from Cinnamon.

Hello, everyone! I just set up my first XFCE-environment computer (I'm running Mint), and I have a "has only used Cinnamon until now" question lol.

I can't find network settings...? Is it called something different in XFCE? No matter what I search on DuckDuckGo I just cannot find an answer to this, for some reason. Nothing's in my whisker menu, except for "advanced network configurations," either.

r4 just straight-up stopped working last night; any fixes?

A week or so ago, I made this post in r/DigitalAudioPlayer thinking I was doing something wrong with the sound settings. Now I'm wondering if there's a wiring issue, because lo and behold last night, when I went to turn it on, it just......wouldn't. Won't charge, screen won't turn on, nothing. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Holly Humberstone?

Besides Olivia Rodrigo's 'drop dead', I think Holly Humberstone's 'To Love Somebody' is a top contender for song of the summer; I'm hearing it everywhere right now. I just went to youtube to look her up, and watched this, and I'm realising she'd probably be a perfect fit for Coachella; what do y'all think are the odds she'll get booked for the festival in the next few years?

Mock meat for bao and dumplings?

[Note: just posted this in r/vegetarian, but it got removed; apologies if you've seen this before. Upon reflection, I thought this might be a more appropriate place to ask.]

Hello, all! I'm a flexitarian who really, really wants to be vegetarian, and possibly even vegan in the future, and I'm trying to learn replace some of my favourite foods with vegetarian options, and am looking for a bit of advice, as 1) tomorrow's my shopping day and my internet research has been unhelpful, 2) I'm on a bit of a budget this week and can only pick one mock meat.

So! I'm planning on making teriyaki bao with some sort of vegetarian mince, and possibly dumplings as well. What would be the best for this? Beyond? Impossible? Morningstar? Should I get mock meat sausage patties and mash them up with the aromatics? Does the Beyond mince taste too much like beef? (I loathe the taste of beef lol)

Bonus question not related to the above: what's everyone's favourite reccs for mock chicken nuggets/breaded strips? I'm planning on making that my next purchase after I figure out the mince.

Best mock meat for dumplings & bao?

EDIT: Thank you so much, mods, for putting this back up; it was kind of hilarious to wake up to so many unexpected notifications XD

And thank you, everyone, for your suggestions! I'm going to take notes and try things; I managed to find some TVP, and am looking forward to experimenting with it. I really appreciate everybody's thoughtful & helpful responses :]

Hiby r4 sound issues?

I recently got a hiby r4 after a LOT of searching for the perfect dap, and was convinced it was everything I wanted - smallish screen, physical buttons, runs android so I can still use musicolet. However I'm several weeks into using it, and am struggling with the sound quality; no matter how many times I tweak the EQ or gain, everything sounds flat and/or compressed....? Is there a fix for this? I know it's not my headphones, as I've tried multiple types, and even my speaker (which it sounds plain awful through, lol, somebody walked in on that and commented on how crunchy it sounded).

It's at the point where my old samsung phone with dolby atmos sounds better than this. What am I doing wrong?

Gift Code: what am I doing wrong?

I got one of those free walmart "buy these headphones and we'll give you an apple music code!" codes a few months ago (it's still unexpired), and I've been trying to redeem it this week, and it just...? won't work...? Am I doing this wrong?

I'm going to music.apple.com/redeem and entering the gift code, and all that happens is I get a spinny wheel of doom for about a minute and then the page resets to "enter your gift code." I've looked in the apple.com help FAQ and I can't seem to find anything helpful. Anyone have any advice at all? I'm at a total loss.

Chime's been a lifesaver for me while stuck between credit unions.

I've had a lot of financial stress this year - I had to leave my credit union over terrible customer service and go through a very stressful process to get an accidental fee reversed, I had to find a new credit union to switch to, and to top it all off, my work has been making my hours worryingly inconsistent. I discovered Chime partway through this, and it's been soooo helpful; I was able to get my direct deposits from work in my Chime checking until I sorted the credit union fiasco out, and I got a hundred-dollar loan just when I needed it - just paid it off this morning with barely any interest.

Thank you so much, Chime, for helping me through such a stressful financial period of my life! I really appreciate it. Even now, I'll still be using it, as it's super convenient (and fun!) to just be able to walk up to a Walgreens and put cash on my card; reminds me of when I was a teen and got my first prepaid debit card.

Couchella crew! Anybody watching the Tomorrowland stream?

Just tuned into the livestream for Freedom Stage about an hour ago and caught the end of Max Styler; finally getting to see Miss Monique on a livestream right now, and ngl I think she should play Coachella sometime soon.

Anywho! Anybody else in the stream tonight? If so, who are y'all enjoying?

Small phone for utility use?

I've read the pinned post, and found it somewhat helpful, but am still looking for something maybe a little smaller. Does anybody know if there's an android phone thats no taller than 5.5 inches [EDIT: I would *prefer* 'no bigger than 5 inches,' however I'm aware this is probably unrealistic], and is at least android 9? It doesn't have to be flagship quality or anything, just very compact and able to be used for simple stuff like light browsing, matrix/discord/signal-type messaging, etc etc (basically like a PDA), as a companion to my flip phone.

I'm heavily considering getting a galaxy s7 and putting lineage OS on it; do y'all think this is my best bet? Or is there actually something out there that's similar? (I'm currently trying to use an old blu view 1 for this, but it's soooooo buggy it's driving me insane.)

The ending of Very Worst Thing?

I finished The Very Worst Thing That Could Possibly Happen yesterday, and have been trying to understand the ending ever since; I even read back the transcript to see if I was missing something, but I still don't get it. Did Sara and Raoul meet off-scene? Did Sara die so Raoul could live? Did they body/time swap? Is it just intentionally ambiguous?

I thought I'd bring the question to you wonderful folks to discuss :)

ELI5: What defines psytrance as psytrance, vs "regular" trance?

I only recently got into trance music, say in the past two-three years or so, and then slowly started going down the road to psytrance via Indira Paganotto, Infected Mushroom, and Psy-Nation Radio. However, as I'm still very new to the subgenre, I'm finding it a little hard to tell what the line between standard trance and psytrance is.

How would you all define it? Curious to know the community's thoughts in general.

Also who are some artists and/or shows you'd recommend I listen to next?

EDIT: Thank you all for the explanations! I have a lot to look into. Also I really appreciate everybody in the comments making psytrance sounds asjdflckjsdgh that genuinely brought a smile to my face

catskull finale

After procrastinsting for a while, I finally listened to the catskull finale, and can I just say that that was a beautiful, emotional, tragic ending? Andas Productions, if you're reading this, thank you so much for this wonderful journey. I'm gonna be thinking about this for a long time, now ;_;

Looking for an online credit union, would like people's advice/experiences.

My local credit union has rapidly gone downhill over the past year, and I'm possibly not even staying in the state anymore, anyway, so I've been searching for national/online credit unions in the meantime, and I was wondering what the general consensus was on these three: PenFed, CCU, and Alliant.

Things that are super important to me: shared branching, i.e., can I walk into a credit union in my area, hand them cash, and say "can you please deposit this into my [xyz credit union] account?", also fee-free atms. Things that are not that important to me: credit cards. I already have a credit card I like, and I'm not really interested in getting one from a credit union right now.

Ty in advance :)

EDIT: Is this post still true, that you can deposit cash into PenFed at a Walmart or Walgreens customer service desk?

Does woe.begone stay as "intense" as episode 2...?

I've listened to the first three episodes of woe.begone this morning, and I have a question for those of y'all who listen to it: is the body horror as bad going forward as in episode 2? I don't quite know how I was perfectly fine listening to Deviser but woe.begone's protag >!sawing his arm off!< made me feel lightheaded, but here we are lol XD I guess I've discovered my limit.

Hello, all! Long time no post.

I've been binging the Weeping Cedars 'verse to fill that Forbidden Cassettes and Lovecraft Investigations-shaped hole in my heart, but I'm unfortunately almost done with that little constellation of podcasts, and was wondering if anybody had any recommendations of dramas in a similar vein!

(Notes: I've tried Milkman of St Gaff and didn't like it; couldn't actually get through episode one, and also I've tried Malevolent and although I adore it, I'm on a bit of a hiatus from it to catch up on shorter podcasts XD)

(Oh, I've also listened to Deviser and am slowly making my way through DERELICT.)
