Is there a good way to play Mechwarrior 4 and its expansions on modern hardware without emulators?

Can anyone tell me the history of this?

My uncle got this at a gun show some 20 years ago and it made its way to my dad’s stash and now it’s mine. I haven’t been able to find much about the company or this particular rifle, any insight would help.

Am I crazy or does Delta run worse now?

I uncapped the frame rate put about 60 hours into the game last year when it released. I reinstalled recently and uncapped it again, but I swear it’s running a little worse than before. Was there an update that effected performance or am I tripping?

Is the game dead?

I wanted to dip my toes in the game but everything everywhere is sold out. Is the game dying or was there a market boom and they’re having trouble keeping up?

Wanting to do a little proxy with a Zuckuss model I found. I’m lookin at Bounty Hunters the Empire can take, and I’m having trouble finding a “guy with gun” type unit.

I thought maybe Bossk but the crazy melee build and weird mortar gun just don’t really fit. The best I’ve been able to come up with is a fairy vanilla Din Djarin but he feels too tanky.

Any ideas?
