I prefer snare cords to straps, but they can be expensive and poor quality.
I prefer snare cords as they help keep the snares parallel and are easier to set up properly as they “self adjust”. But, snare cords can be over priced and many that I have tried stretch or fail pretty quickly. I found Kevlar kite line to work very well and be affordable as well. I It seems unbreakable and (so far) doesn’t stretch. I bought “Kevlar Line” braided cord 30 feet 10m MBS 300 pound off Amazon. It should be enough to do over 30 drums for around 10 dollars. Oh, and it comes in black!
