Where else to find community? Feeling really let down.
Well, the Discord was a total mess of unwanted and unsolicited advice, as well as a person asking for personal information (location, work history, school). On top of that, I've been doxxed by someone on reddit even though I keep my posts hidden, and post in queer subreddits. I'm really worried about further doxxing attempts, and wish folks would just let me live my life.
The situation feels pretty disappointing, like there's nowhere for me to share my present life without being drowned out by the clichés of online social behavior (the folks who post dozens of times a day, giving unwanted advice, or taking over entire conversations). Like, I get people in our circle have been through some really traumatic things, but I saw a profound lack of self-awareness that I think makes the community smaller.
I honestly blame myself though, since I knew Discord has a reputation for being a cesspool. But I hoped the trans vet community would be more self-aware, or at least kinder to one another because of the state of the world.
**Tldr: Does anyone know of other LGBT vet spaces that are more welcoming?**
