I've finished my first project EVER!

Yes, I know this is far from perfect. I've been crocheting for 16 years, so I'm used to my work being pretty polished. This was... Humbling lol

Either way, I'm happy with the result! Before this, I had only made a rectangle that my cat claimed as her blankie.

I didn't follow any pattern. Just watched a bunch of videos about knitting in the round, decreases, ribbing and started from there. I think it helped me understand a lot of the basics of knitting!

Cozy homophobic cow

It's winter over here. She loves blankets and being tucked in before going to sleep 🥰

It hurts so bad 😞

I got my first period when I was 10. I'm 37 now. I've been bleeding every month for 27 years. And it hurts so bad y'all. I feel like my insides are about to explode.

I just took a pill and I'm drinking some hot tea. But I'm desperate. And work starts in an hour 😫 I really don't know how I'm gonna work today. And of course, no chance to take the day off because of this, especially when I'm literally the only woman in the company (yay tech!). I wish I lived in a country with an established menstrual leave policy. I wish we all did.

Baby's first knitting project 🐥 [Update]

I wanna thank everyone so much for taking the time to explain that I was twisting my stitches! I read all your comments and watched tons of videos, and now I get it! I can very clearly see the difference now.

I didn't frog the twisted portion, because this is a practice project, and I want the finished product to showcase my learning process. It's kind of like a journal of my learning process, in the form of a sweater :)

So, my grandma taught me the basics a long time ago, and I could only remember the way she purled. So I googled how to do the knit stitch. Long story short, I was knitting the internet way (western) but purling my grandma's way (eastern). Now I have a significantly deeper understanding of how stitches work. I know what eastern, western and combined knitting are!

I'm gonna stick to western style (Perdóname abuelita), because it seems like the internet is more familiar with that?

Baby's first knitting project 🐥

I'm working on my first knitting project! I'm making a very simple sweater I saw on TikTok https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSx8yshoP/ . It's made with rectangles, so I thought it would be a good idea for practice. I'm using scrap yarn, because I didn't want to use new yarn in case it doesn't turn out great.

I'm happy with how it's going! It's far from perfect, but I know that once I'm done with this, I'll feel confident enough to experiment with more complex patterns.

My grandma taught me the basics when I was a teenager, but I never finished anything, and I hadn't touched a pair of needles in 20 years or so.

My tension is somewhat consistent because I've been crocheting consistently for a while :)
