Elijah’s story
My name is Elijah, and I am creating this fundraiser for myself as I prepare to attend Old Dominion University. I went from experiencing homelessness to being accepted into college, and that journey has taught me resilience, determination, and hope. As a first-generation high school graduate and first-generation college student, reaching this point is a major accomplishment for me and for my family. I worked hard through difficult circumstances to create a better future for myself, and I am proud to have earned this opportunity to attend ODU.
I am seeking support to help cover a meal plan, a laptop, school supplies, and other necessities I need to succeed in college. Having these essentials would allow me to focus on my education, stay on track toward my degree, and continue building a brighter future from the hardships I have overcome. I’m asking my community to support me as I take this important next step. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean so much to me. Your support would be more than financial help.
