There is nothing remotely alternative about his music. "Homewrecker" is a mainstream pop song through and through. Sure, maybe "Back to Friends" or "12 to 12" could be argued of at least having some alternative creed to them, but anything from "Homewrecker" on are mainstream pop that belongs on Hits 1 and PopRocks, not Alt Nation.
Was listening to the Alt 18 today and found myself humming "running down a dream" by Tom Petty while listening to Bug in the Cake. Very similar sounding songs.

I'm not sure what is my biggest pet peeve this week on the Alt-18, but I have a couple:
I love the regular DJs but it appears they all took this week off. Been hearing Josiah, JaRon, Brady, Sara and even Regan all this week. Kind of fun to hear some different personalities.
It's becoming one of my favorite stations now. So much cool stuff on it.

Sometimes the best thing to say is to not say anything at all.
I know he never wanted to be at Nebraska and only went there as a favor to his Dad and his uncle, but there's a better way to be than to rip the roster, and especially ripping the state as well.

I stand by the fact that I don't think Genesis ever had a bad album. There are definitely stronger albums and weaker albums, but never a bad album. Having said that, I think there is at least one song on each album that could have either been replaced or removed completely, and it likely would have made the album stronger. Without further ado, here is what song I'd remove from each Genesis album and why.
From Genesis to Revelation: This is actually a stronger album than I expected. I'm looking forward to checking out the remaster in a few months. Definitely a much different sound, very late 60s psychedelic/baroque pop a la Procol Harum, but pretty good, especially for a first album. I'd remove "One Day", as I just find it the weakest of the tracks, but they are all pretty constant.
Trespass: The first album with the progressive rock sound of the 70s, my pick might be a controversial one, but it would be "The Knife." It's a great song, but it doesn't fit the overall tone of the album, and it might have been a better fit on "Nursery Cryme", where maybe it would sound different with Phil's drumming and Steve's lead guitar.
Nursery Cryme: Phil and Steve are on board, solidifying the classic 5 man lineup. "Harlequin" has always been a chore for me to listen to, and stands out as the weakest track on this album.
Foxtrot: Tough one, as I find this album fantastic from top to bottom. I like it, but "Get 'Em Out By Friday" is badly in need of an edit. It turns into a meandering, verbose mess.
Selling England by the Pound: Again, another masterpiece, but if I had to remove one track, I'd probably pick "More Fool Me" slightly ahead of "After the Ordeal." It sticks out on this album as a filler track.
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway: Peter Gabriel's swan song is a massive double album, so there are a lot of songs to choose from. I'd pick "The Light Dies Down on Broadway." It's basically a rehash of the title track and "The Lamia" and with Tony and Mike doing the lyrics, it doesn't fit lyrically with the rest of the album.
A Trick of the Tail: Phil Collins steps up to the mic, and succeeds far more than anyone expected. I never liked "Robbery, Assault and Battery" and likely never will.
Wind & Wuthering: Steve's last stand. I was between "All in a Mouses Night", "Your Own Special Way" and "Wot Gorilla?" and decided on "Your Own Special Way." It feels to me like a Mike Rutherford solo track, and it's way too long. Honestly, would have swamped it out with "Inside and Out."
And Then There Were Three: The trio version of Genesis, the longest lasting incarnation of the band, is introduced, but it's a bumpy ride. Steve Hackett's lead guitar, writing and arrangements are very sorely missed on this one. "Snowbound" is probably the track I'd pick for removal.
Duke: Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford figure things out. Mike simplifies the role of the lead guitar, making it a much better fit for him and for the music going forward. Phil establishes the singing voice that would make him a superstar. If I had to remove one song, it would probably be "Please Don't Ask" but "Alone Tonight" is right behind it.
Abacab: "Whodunnit?" Next.
Self-Titled (aka Shapes): The whole second side is a slog to get through, but "Illegal Alien" hasn't aged well and never was that funny to begin with.
"Invisible Touch": "Anything She Does" just feels like a solo track from Phil Collins, which is funny, since Tony Banks wrote the lyrics.
"We Can't Dance": Phil's final album is loaded with adult contemporary schlock, with "Tell Me Why" probably the most egregious example.
"Calling All Stations": Tough one, as there are many options, but I'll go with "Small Talk."
When will Taylor Swift be added to the rotation?
I'm sure he's a great guy and yes he's had a long history with the Seattle Mariners, but Dan Wilson is probably the worst manager in the entire MLB. Way too passive, way too easy going, makes a lot of questionable decisions with the lineup. I get it that he can't step in there and swing the bat, but the attitude of this team comes from the leader, and there is zero leadership right now on this squad. Cal is completely lost, Julio isn't quite the superstar that has been expected, Naylor isn't living up to last year's expectations, Randy's an amazing offensive player that is a defensive liability, JP's days as an everyday player are likely done, Castillo should be demoted to the bullpen. Just a complete mess of a season, and after last season, a major disappointment. This squad needs a leader, and Dan isn't it.

What a stacked Alt-18 this week. Banger after banger. Not one lousy track in the bunch. So solid even great songs still in rotation like Self Aware (Temper City), Good Times/End Times (Goose), Victim of Luck (Metric), Dead Meat (South Arcade), Stain (Lemonsuckr) didn't make it and yet I don't know what you would take out in place of them. I hope Buffalo Traffic Jam moves up even more next week, that song is maybe my favorite one right now. 2026 has been an excellent year for Alt Nation.
The shopping center on Hall/Scholls Ferry with Grocery Outlet now has a huge "For Lease" sign and construction crews are tearing up the pavement. Anyone know what's happening?

Why are you playing the edited version that takes out the f-bomb? You have no problem playing songs with cursing, but sometimes you pick random songs like this one and that Sally When the Wine Runs Out that you play edited ones. Come on, guys.
You've played it twice on Advanced Placement, and it's an amazing song. Add it to the rotation. That is all.
With In-N-Out getting all the traffic, Jollibee is pretty easy to get into now and try. I had it last night and that spicy chickenjoy might be the best fast food fried chicken I've ever had. That mango pie was also excellent.
And it was just as delicious as I remember. Only took 15 minutes. Double double animal style with fries and a root beer float. Fast food perfection.
