Obviously we know rooinek is redneck and referring to an Englishmen.

But I am curious about Afrikaners experience with the term bloody Dutchmen. And English people's experience with family using the phrase.

I grew up in a very English family. And my old folks used to use that phrase a lot. We were brought up to believe that Afrikaners were not very intelligent, and the phrase hot used to mean a hot headed and very lazy individual. And when implied on a male it also meant a male who expects his wife to be a servant.

While I don't hold that belief or the ideology that I was brought up with. I am very curious about other people's experiences with the phrase.

Were you brought up with family using it? Do you feel that both rooinek and bloody Dutchmen are racist phrases? Have you ever experienced someone use the phrase against you? What were you taught that it meant?

I am not trying to start a war here. Just curious about other people's experience around it.

I personally feel that the phrase is outdated. And is very condescending. People vary from their own culture. And at the end of the day generalizing isn't a good thing...

Sorry if the post goes against the rules. Just looking for a discussion.
From what i could find in the game files this was called Coast Line Basin.
This region was featured in the First Gameplay footage.
The only other region we know if is Lake Shore Ties. which was featured in the live broadcast.
So I was with my gastroenterologist. When we ended up discussing treatment plans I told her that I trust science and I am not going to be bothered with home remedies that is all a bunch of nonsense. I followed by saying the following to be humorous.
My exact words were(and this was the joke)
"I get that some people like to have Herbal remedies and ginger and honey concoctions in the morning, but I am not a KFC chicken wing I don't need 11 herbs and spices"
That's it. That's the joke.
Hope it provided some humour for you folks 🙂
I am not one for any herbal medicine. I don't believe it does anything which is what I was pointing out to my doc. It made my gastroenterologist and psychologist laugh. Thought it might be good to share.
Spell check for who.
How did this even pass copywriters checks.
😂🤣😂💀
Howzit folks.
I am curious if I'm the only one experiencing this of late.
Lately I have noticed no matter what brand you buy, most of the frozen vegetables are super hard and need a long time to cook.
I remember back in the day you could add some frozen vegetables, be it peas and corn, mixed, etc. at the last minute to something like a chicken dish and they would come out soft. To the point I remember you couldn't add them in too early or you'd end up with mush.
Lately I've noticed you have to really cook the stuff for a long time before it gets soft. Like they need to be cooked for 30+ minutes before they even become tender. It feels like I need to add the frozen vegetables in, earlier and earlier in order for them to actually be cooked.
I was curious if I am the only one experiencing this. Maybe they changed the way they process it.
That's all. Just wondering what everyone's experience has been. Maybe I am remembering wrong?
As the title suggests! with a added comparison shot.
Hope you enjoy! :)
In my continuing series of trying to see Sims 1 objects as high detailed renders. Here is the Simmy Award and the bench from Superstar.
If the fountain looks familiar. that's because it is. it is the fountain used in the neighborhood screen. it is a mix of the lady holding a vase statue and a wider brim las seen in the fountain that comes with Superstar.
Disclaimer again. this isn't AI.
Legitimate question...
For context. I drive a car that is close to 30 years old. Still runs well.
But my car does not have power steering, PDC or any cameras. Yet I can still move into a parking space in one take and be straight and within the lines. then comes Oom Frikkie, tannie Saree and gogo Mavis, and can't get into a simple spot without needing to reverse or they end up parking more skew then a borewors in a circle. Like you have PDCs and cameras use them...
