Lydia is smarter than Glam?

So according to IA Lydia might be smarter than Glam. I do think she is a lot smarter than she seems and can rivalize with Glam, but saying she is smarter than him sounds a bit overkill... is there anything backing this up?

Just to be clear, I dind't directly asked the IA, I just googled it and the automatic IA answer came out

Any Metal Family fans?

Anyone else who is also into Metal Family? If yes what animals do you think the daemons of the characters would take?

I think Dee would/will settle as a red breasted merganser or a hooded merganser. A raven could also fit but I think that something more unusual or less known would fit him more

Im not sure what Glam would be but I think his daemon can still change despite being settled since he a system. Since Glam and Sebastian are aspects of the same person instead of having two daemons she would change form depending on who's fronting (the two forms would be very similar). This is my headcanon about how the daemon of a median system would work in canon, feel free to agree and disagree. I also like he might be similar to Simon Talbot and thinks that daemons are actually shared hallucinations

I think Ches would be one of the rare people with a same sex daemon because he doesn't need a SO to feel completed (perhaps Glam could also have a same sex daemon because his hallucinations could be interpreted as clairvoyance) he would either be a scruffed alley cat or a ferret or something similar

Victoria would have something tough like a wolverine or a bear

Id like to hear your thoughts

Do you think it is possible to (naturally) settles as a mythical creature in canon?

This is something I always wondered about. In NL there is a master who has a basilisk daemon, but it was never precised if it was a basilisk, the mythical serpent that kills with one strike, or the basilisk, the lizard species that runs on water

We know its possible via the Furnace Man to 'force-settling'' someone with magic into a specific form and that this from can be a mythical creature, but is it the only way someone can settle with such a form?

There is only one character in the whole series who have a same-sex daemon. So if having a mythical form is as rare than a same-sex daemon then it makes sense that no character with one would have appeared so far (althought its possible that you cross a person with a same sex-daemon on the street without knowing it. but the same can be said for a mythical daemon depending on the form)

I know there isn't a lot to talk from but I would like to hear your thoughts

Meanwhile here are the traits that I think a person with a mythical form would have: They would have a childlike imagination, when they grew up their imagination didn't dimmed out, it is just as rich as an adult than it was as a child. They would be connected to The Secret Commonwealth in some way. This could go from everything from having an intense interest in anything related to it, to actually being part of it. They might come across as irrational or non-sensical. It could be that they truly are that way, but it could also just be the impression that others have of them.

And here is what AI says about the master with a basilisk-daemon:

  • A basilisk remaining as a settled adult dæmon highlights the deeply eccentric or scholarly imagination of that specific historical Master. [1, 2, 3]
  • The inclusion of a basilisk shows that exceptional, learned, or eccentric figures in the academic history of Oxford could theoretically have rare or fantastical settled dæmon forms.
  • The reference establishes that exceptional, eccentric, or deeply imaginative people can have their dæmons settle into legendary or mythological shapes rather than ordinary biological animals. [1]
  • While most adults' dæmons settle into everyday animals, rare and imaginative individuals can have dæmons that take fantastical shapes. [1]

Lydia preference's in men

So it seems like many people in the fandom headcanon Lydia as a lesbian. Thats totally fine, but I have an alternative hypothesis, what if its like Glam where he does like women but only a specific type of women. Lydia also only like a specific type of men. Glam like women who are muscular and rough. Would that mean that Lydia likes men who are soft and skinny? Maybe, but I imagine it wouldn't be the type Gustav would want her to end up with. This could explain why her marriage is a spoiler, she had this idea that she should marry, but the guy she married wasn't really her type. When she realized she didn't actually have to marry, she divorced

Id like to hear your thoughts, even tho I doubt thats relevant to the plot

À question for PDAers from other cultures than my own: How has your culture impacted your presentation?

So according to the book about PDA that I am reading PDA can present differently in different cultures. This kind of already confirmed what I already knew, it makes sense that a PDAer in a culture where productivity is highly valued might have a different experience than one who grew up where it is less valued

I am a White Canadian who is from Quebec, everyone in my family are White quebecers (except for my sister ´s husband, but that doesnt count since I obviously didnt grew up with him)

If my question feels like a demand you obviously don’t have to answer it

PS: if you are a PDAer of color and want to share how things like racism and racial bias impacted your experience feel free to do so, but should I make a separate post for this

Is there a job where you work only 3-4 days a week, have a pause every hour, work only 5 hours per day and have the same amount of vacations that you have at school?

Title basically. I have autism and adhd and because of thoses conditions this is genuinely the amount of time I would be able to work without being in burnout. If it is a job that is so fun it doesnt feel like a job then maybe I could do more, but I have no idea what that job would be

I live in Quebec, Canada in the Trois-Rivières région so it should be a job that exists there

I think Lif would like Lydia

I think that if Lif and Lydia met Lif would actually like her, Lif is too easy going and happy to give a rat's ass about Lydia's bad attitude, she would probably thinks she is cool just she thinks Glam is cool

Meanwhile Dee wouldn't like Lydia but would start pretending he does as soon as he learns that Lif likes his cool rich aunt, but he would be really bad at hiding it and it would be really funny

Theory: Glam is and/or has a system but he's not DID

So I don't think its really a theory anymore that Glam has two alters, Glam and Sebastian. However I don't think he has DID, the main giveaway is that he doesn't experience amnesia or memory loss.

But that doesn't mean he isnt a system/doesn't have a system, he might be an OSDD system but I think its more likely that his plurality is a sympton of C-PTSD. I also think he is median rather than fully plural, Glam and Sebastian are facets or aspects of the same person rather than entirely separate individuals

Hypothesis: Christopher didn't falsify anything

So it seems people are interpreting it as Glam manipulated Christopher into not arresting him, Victoria nor Bug, but I don't think thats what happened here. I think Christopher wrote his report accurately but his boss just didn't believe him even tho it is true that Glam literally let himself get runned over by Vicky. So Christopher probably just went ''well since my boss doesn't believe me I might aswell become friend and/or flirt with this interesting fella and not put his new girlfriend into jail with the other bikers''

I think that describing PDA as having a ''threat response'' or ''trying to keep itself safe'' is innacurate

PDA is often described as having a nervous system that perceives demands as a threat and needs autonomy to feel safe.

But I think its innacurate, because clearly the PDA nervous system isn't trying to keep you safe, its trying to keep you free.

The PDA nervous system doesn't need to be safe, it needs to be free/have autonomy

It doesn't screen for threats, it screens for obligations or anything that hinders freedom

Saying that autonomy is a survival level need in PDA isn't accurate in the traditional sense. It is accurate in the sense that the nervous system will overrides hunger and thirst if its freedom is threatened, but where it gets inaccurate is that the PDA nervous system isn't trying to keep you alive, it isnt screening nor getting activated by things that threatened survival, but by things that threatened freedom

This explains why some PDAers report not feeling fear in life-threatening situations, because a life-threatening situation isn't necesserily a situation where there is no autonomy. The PDA nervous system doesn't care if the situation is life-threatening, as long as autonomy/freedom doesn't get compromised, it won,t enter fight or flight mode

Death as aconsequence of lack of safety and/or not eating/drinking does not register as a threat to the autonomy, because the nervous system does not know that it can die. Therefore, there is no reason to register life-threatening things as obstacles to the freedom said nervous system is wired to protect

This isn't to say that a nervous cannot be wired to keep free AND keep you safe, but I don't think that the PDA nervous systems mistakes a lack of autonomy for a lack of safety, it IS wired to react to lack of autonomy

Now is it possible that I am wrong? Defenetly. Its also possible thats how things are for some PDAers but not all of them. But thats the thing that was bothering me with the languange used in the PDA book I am reading (althought this could just be to make it easier to understand to the reader)

Idea that most likely won't happen

Ok so ifrc the creators confirmed that either futur episodes or the next comic will focus on Gustav

They also said that Lydia most likely ended being married because she thought she needed to get married

What if another rich aristocratic family moves close to where they live and not only this family is also made of multigenerational musicians, but they are also very famous and prestigious and having his kid maries their kid would be a dream come true for Gustav, he couldn't have dream of a better union to continue his legacy. So obviously he pressures Lydia to marry their son and Lydia decides she likes him well enough

But the thing is, this familly is one of the rare rich people who are genuinely good people

At some point, when its too late to cancel the union between Lydia and their son, they discover that Glam is their son. The patriarch breaks the news to Gustav, but because he is a good person he keeps telling Gustav how amazing it is that he let Sebastian live his life the way he wants to, and that he is glad to know that Gustav is a being a good father by not forcing his son to live like him

I highly doubt this will actually happen. But I can't help but think about Gustav's reaction if it did, LOL

Semi-Evidence for my theory about Lydia

So Im the person who theorizes that Lydia overpowered/overthrowed Gustav at some point, recently I realized a detail that sorta points to that being true. Before Glam left, everyone in the family (including Roft even thought he's not a family member) is very tidy. Its obvious that this is what Gustav wants

But when Lydia shows up at inheritance meeting, her hair is untidy and she defenitely isn't looking the prettiest, she looks average. Thats weird because clearly Gustav wouldn't have wanted that

...unless Gustav didn't have any power over Lydia anymore. Yeah I know he is dead, but in one of Alinaa's sketches you can see a yonger Glam and Lydia with Dee and Heavy and Lydia had thick and dark eyebrows. Gustav would have totally thought this was too un-womanly and forces Lydia to trim them, but the fact she has them implies he couldn't force her. Ifrc the sketches are usually canon

Im probably overfocusing on irrevelant details tho
