Hammer Of Intransigence - Nick Keller (2011)

Hammer Of Intransigence - Nick Keller (2011)

This work is strongly influenced by romanticism, especially by the art of British artist John Martin. Although it is the work of a dark landscape artist considered highly Neo-Romantic, it deserves a place in this community.

Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds By Moonlight - Walter Linsley Meegan (Circa 1880/1899)

This work is heir to Romanticism; And although it truly belongs to the Victorian atmosphere movement, I believe it deserves to be in this community.

Since it shares the admiration for Gothic ruins, melancholy, the mystery of the night and the smallness of human beings in the face of nature.

Meegan was a direct student of Grimshaw, and his influence is noticeably evident in this work.
